There is no good reason. None. In fact, there is no reason at all.

    Oh wait.

Hardlycores can't be seen playing on the same console that those dirty casuals might enjoy.

    That's a good one!

It's a miracle that this game even came outside of Japan, share the love goddamnit.

I am hearing nothing but constant raging and crying from Weltall who didn't seem to like this game and yet continues to post on it.

    Where do I start?

    1. A majority of tourney scene players don't own, and dislike, the Wii. Example - Gootecks has done several interviews with players who have mentioned this. Example 2 - Several interviews from top players by DF resulted in the same remarks. "If it wasn't on the Wii maybe..." "Well, if it comes to PS3 I'll check it out"

    2. No one is buying a Wii just for that game. The target audience would be Arcana Hearts / Marvel 2 players. The majority of that audience don't care to play the kiddy games offered by the Wii.

    3. Most people don't have a Wii stick. They won't justify buying a Wii stick for Reasons #1 and #2 listed above. #1 and #2 lead to a low playerbase, niche game.

At the end of the day, the # of hands it can get to isn't enough because of the Wii. If it was on the Ps3/360 there would be a HUGE following for this game. The devs know their mistake; they said if they did a sequel it will be on the 360/Ps3. Little kids and teenage girls don't buy / aren't good at TVC, lol.

I love this game. We have it at the arcade and I've been playing it forever. Chun is a God in this.

Really where on earth did the developers say if they did a sequel it could to the HD Twins?

    1) It will get tourney scene for people who don't have sticks (lol) so far up their ass. One or two drama queens do not represent the whole competitive tourney scene for every fighting game. This is not coming to PS3/360. They might get a sequel, but there's no point in porting this game when it would be just as feasible financially to build an entirely new game.

    2) Tons of people have the Wii already, more than the 360 or the Ps3, by the end of the year more than both of them combined. 71% of the former Ps2 userbase owns a Wii. SSBB (a fighting game on the Wii!) is the best selling fighting game this generation, so there's an audience for this game on the Wii. There are people who will buy this game. Numbers are not the problem. Games like this need to exist in the first place or they'll never have a reason to buy a Wii for fighters. It's a catch-22.

3)You don't NEED a Wii stick for this game. And fyi, with the exception of Brawl and SF4, all fighting games fall into the "niche" category this gen.

    Your arguments are non-arguments.

^This, The Classic Controller works perfectly fine for the game.

VideoGamer.com: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars is coming out for the Wii, but we’ve seen fighting games prove successful on the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Did you ever discuss releasing the game as downloadable titles on XBLA and PSN in the west, or was it always going to be a Wii game? Is there any chance that the game might be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the future?

RN: Currently, no, but we would like to see the reaction of the western market when we release the game on Wii. The other problem is the game is optimised for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it.

Fighting games on pads? Oh God, just stop, you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Btw - The non-Wii type games that are coming out on the Wii aren't selling. There was just an article about that shooting game and that one that is all Black/Red/White (Look, they are so popular I don't even know the names, Conduit maybe?) on Kotaku. I think their site is down or I would pull it up for you as well. Again, tons of little kids / girls own the Wii. Yes, it sells a bunch of consoles. Yes, TVC only on the Wii is holding it back from the fighting scene in a huge way. If you think otherwise, you're just lacking knowledge of the scene.

Clearly you never playing a fighting game on a controller that doesn't have a shitty d-pad. Ger over yourself, a Stick isn't the only way to play a fighting game.

You will never see a pad player win Evo in anything other than a 3d fighting game. Clearly, sticks are the way to go. Once again, you are ignorant to the situation. If it happened, the place would explode.

I prefer Blazeblue on Dualshock over a pad, whenever I get around to getting a Ps3 I'm double dipping. I might not even open my CE copy.

Another one for you from the devs:

"This game was begun before anybody knew that the arcade/X360/PS3 Street Fighter IV was going to be a hit, and that fighting games in general would be back, and especially in the West.

It's easy to take info we all have today and wonder about decisions made earlier, but it's not always a great way to understand why people made the decisions they did at the time."

A sequel is guaranteed on the 360/Ps3 and it will be a success in the tourney scene. Bank on it.

Congrats, and you will get ass raped by a stick player on the same skill level as yourself.

Not every player wants to play competitely, I mean sure an Arcade Stick would be ideal but not everyone wants to spend money on an expensive niche product.

I'll get my ass handed to me either way, because I won't play enough.

You remind me of how absolutely retarded "the scene" is. I know they aren't all assholes, but if they don't come around to TvC, I sure won't be crying about it.

Have fun waiting for your hypothecial sequel though. You'll be waiting a long time, maybe even forever!

The people that will carry the game and create room for sequels IS THE competitve players..... why in the blue fuck do you think we are getting a MvC2 re-release and not one of random X fighting game?

Answer: The tourney scene has carried Marvel for the last 8 years and kept it as the #1, and now #2, most popular fighter. If the tourney scene hated it and dropped it 6 years ago, we would not be getting this release on 360/ps3.

Think about shit before you post...god damn

Edit: @Kenai - Pretty much all scene players are cool as hell with each other. We house each other for tourneys in different areas all the time. Just last week I had 9 random ppl sleeping in my floor and I didn't know their name from yours until they walked in. We aren't cool with people that call the scene "retarded' and don't understand that the "scene" carries these games.

Edit 2 : We are also dicks to those who start rambling on nonsense about playing on a Pad, Wii fanboys, etc etc. If he plays on a pad I'll beat this kid with my left foot and right hand on a stick. Money match it!

It doesn't change the fact it's an expensive niche product for a niche genre. I'll consider a stick once it's a relatively reasonable price, Until then I'll "suffer" with my terribad controller.

"We" are getting a re-release because it's an easy port and easy money for Capcom. Nothing more or less. The actual number of people in the so called 'tourney scene' is incredibly insignificant to the actual amount of copies it sells. A fraction. People buy the game because of the familiar characters. They buy it because it's fun.

I have no idea if enough people will buy TvC, because I don't know how many people even know what the T means. But please stop saying shit like "The ultra-superior and mass numbers of the "tourney scene" will totally make or break this game, hurp hurp de derp" when that is CLEARLY not the case.
