Still more time for more new info.
Metal Gear Solid Rising
hi2u Raiden
Raiden kicked so much ass in MGS4, this game will win so much.
As long as I don't get to see HD naked cartwheels....
Still 3 hours left, I'm sure there's more than just a Raiden game.
I'm thinking the Raiden game is one thing, and the Big Boss game is another. The Raiden game still doesn't explain the "5"
Could have just as easily been an S![]()
That still wouldn't account for young Big Boss, It looks like the Raiden game takes place after MGS4, going by what he said in the small trailer if you can even call that a trailer.
Could have multiple games coming, we haven't heard from Sony yet.
Sooo, Raiden game on XBOX possibly Multi-platform though. With a side title of Lightning Bolt Action, it would appear, action based game possibly. Looking forward to the Sony conference, because we still dont know for sure why 'Big Boss' has been shown on the teaser site, I also think at this point i should be saying, told you so to the doubters of my theory that the Metal Gear franchise could branch out to an action style game after Raiden in MGS4. You know who you are
But i havent seen the confirmation of that yet. Anyways bring on the sony conference and the countdown to finish, see what happens in regards to the other info we have been teased with
sony conference is tomorrow right?
I'm kind of saddened by stealth titles becoming more FPS action oriented to get more people attracted to the franchise.
A good example of this is the newest Splinter Cell gameplay:
You don't even need to aim at someone's head to kill someone, you just have to paint them with a red dot and the game does the shooting for you. So lame.
It is a bit rubbish for stealth titles to go down that route Kiwijiboe, it effectively takes the heart out of them, hopefully with MGS, it will literally just be a branch out and the main titles will hopefully stick to the stealth based gameplay. In regards to Splinter Cell, from what ive read about the new one, it actually seems like it will be quite good, but obviously the info is limited, but again, it effectively takes the heart out of the franchise which got it so big in the first place.
Guitarman, Sony is tomorrow for two hours starting around 11am PDT, listed on Gamespot
I don't think it isn't so much of doubt of a branch off, but rather us not wanting to see an action style MGS. That just isn't the way the games have ever been run and it is one of those things of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
See FF series getting Dirge of Cerberus as a spin off as an example.
I'm still going to hold off hope of heavy stealth elements in the game though. That is just what the MGS series has done so well.\
Edit: Also looking at the flash site, is anyone else reminded of the final duel with the Boss at the end of MGS3?
Slightly let down, hoping the Sony conference shows something else. Multi-platform or not, the "Lightning Bolt Action" title sounds ridiculous, and yeah, sounds like it's heading towards an action type game. I'd maybe only get it for the story line (if it is even any good.)
Like i said previously, i agree it should stay stealthlike, however i believe that the fact that the sub-title is 'Lightning Bolt Action', i think we could possibly see a whole new series of games, in the MGSuniverse action based, as long as the money is coming in from it.
Hopefully, the 'Big Boss' game will be a true stealth experience, but if done correctly, to be able to control raiden in some of the scenes in MGS4 would have been kind of cool, as a gimmick. Now that gimmick could possibly be becoming a full game, will it work, who knows, we will have to wait and see
In relation to Dirge of Cerberus, that was a bad move by square, it was a rubbish game, but Kojima Productions are unlikely to make the same mistakes in creating an action spin-off if that the case
Yes, because everyone knows that a demo represents the final product.
Raiden was anything but stealthy in MGS4 really, so I'm not keeping my hopes up that it's stealth...but there was so much in MGS4 that you couldn't reasonably stealth through (I know it's gotta be possible, but I only have so many hours to play, I've no idea how the fuck you'd do the first area of Outer Haven with no alarms or lethal shots) that I'm already used to the idea. Kojima's always been about plot to me anyway, solid gameplay (no pun intended) was just a boon.
The MK.2 pistol is overpowered in MGS4.... Just tranq EVERYTHING.
This is what i was referencing to earlier in this thread, which is why i suggested an action title possibly. For me, in any game, the story is key, but if the gameplay is shite then its difficult to keep playing through (Dirge of Cerberus, again). However, the stealth gameplay of MGS is what kept me playing along with the story, reagrdless of how confusing things seemed to get at times, which is why i hope this is just a branch out and that the series is not going to effectively eliminate, that which so many love about the game to bring new fans in. (again though, this is all just speculation by me upon what i have seen and heard, im not claiming to know it all as l most definitely do not, LoL), still, bring on the sony conference
Raiden was pretty stealthy in MGS4 actually. He was following you throughout most of 2nd Chapter. He also knew a bunch of scouting tricks.
