I wouldn't even say it's cold, honestly. If I ever had a life-threatening disease, I'd want whatever could be salvaged from me (e.g., unaffected organs, skin tissue, etc.) to be given to other people, and I regularly give money to organ donation groups and such. Then there's the people who donate body parts to cryogenic research, which is already capable of preserving some types of tissue, and so on.

Of course, this is a little different, as these people are still alive while they're doing this. Nonetheless, if you're fucked and you're helping to give other people another chance at life, I'd say that's a great thing.
