It's just you, the boost from gorget fTP is more than you'd get from something like 10 Str as I recall.

100 + ((5*.83)*.75) * 1.565 = 161.37~ and whatever 7 Att gives
vs
100 * 1.665 = 166.5 and +3 Acc

I've actually heard my same results form other sams but hey the numbers don't lie! I wonder if any of you actually test out these things instead of blindly following the math you read other people write on BG. /laf

Well, I personally have tested many of these things out, and have long been a proponent of gorgets.

The math doesn't lie dude, but hey, maybe you have different damage calculations?

Base Damage + (fStr + ((WS modStats * WS mod%)*.83) * fTP * pDif = Exactly the damage I do when I calculate the numbers for my various WSes.

Plug your own values in if you don't believe me, but I've kind of got a history of being right about shit.

161 is smaller than 166, jtorque vs gorget, right there, plain as day in my example, a flat multiplier of 0.1 will always add more than adding ((5 * .83) * .75) will.

Then help your case by posting your numbers backed up by your test results. Instead of just claims of other people being wrong, show them that you're not just spewing shit out your ass and that you did infact perform said tests, not that you just heard from other Sam's that Torque > Gorget.

It's the pDif part of the calculation, with Gekko it REALLY skews results across a wide area.

It makes it harder to see what is going on.

If you roll a bunch of low values with Gorget on, then a bunch of high values with Jtorque, it'll really look obvious to you that Jtorque > Gorget, I honestly don't blame people for making that mistake.

If you went out and did 100 SA Gekko's on bunnies and got higher numbers with Jtorque than Gorget, we'd need to rethink some part of the calculation.

You pretty much nailed it. Seriously meant no offense by my post, I just hate 99% of the ass hats on BG who talk and have no experience otherwise.

I try to be more understanding about that, especially after seeing that Gredival guy with his increasing marginal returns stuff.

You figure if you had no neck and 100 base damage before anything else, Gekko would be 156.5 x pDif and shit, Jtorque bumps you up to 161~, Gorget bumps that up to 166, may as well write "+10 Str" in magic marker any time you see a Gorget.
