Internet Explorer 8.. meh

Since I'm kinda boxed into using IE at work I figured I'd at least try out the newest version. So far I'm actually impressed by the speed and relative stability compared to IE7 which lagged up & memory leaked on javascript/flash content constantly and would crash randomly. Unfortunately ActiveX is still here too, which means I'll keep using Firefox outside of the office.

They also made an effort to allow more customization, for example allowing your choice of search engine in the built-in search bar. The changes to the address bar history are nice, but it's more of a catch-up move to Firefox's 'freceny' method of ordering your visited pages. A cute thing I noticed is when you have multiple pages of the same website open (which happens often in my work) it'll color code the tabs to let you know.

I haven't tried out this compatibility view thing yet, but supposedly it's allows you to view older websites correctly.

MSIE can never be complemented, I've tried... anything/everything is better.

I'm on windows 7 and even though they integrated the tabs into the taskbar on the bottom im still back to using mozilla, having addon functionality beats all, + i noticed every now and then when opening a new tab or the browser itself it wouldnt connect to anything which was odd. and annoying.

Had it lock up yesterday on me.. was running a radio stream thru WMP plugin, my company website & admin area, and opened up a page that had javascript on it and the whole thing just plain locked. Then when I opened up IE again after I killed the task, it tried to auto-load all the pages I had open before and locked AGAIN.

I'm so glad I don't use this POS at home.

cant say i didnt give ie8 a shot.. its good for testing to make sure web pages are compatible with it.. but i stick with fox. google chrome is the browser of the future
