shields don't deflect everything the table surface is flat and not curved, so its not for deflecting strikes anyway. and its not just that, you raise your shield high to block a high strike, guess where the spike's at. you will suffer recoil regardless

i do know wing chun, but i does afraid to kick shields. it does hurt


its a novelty item that does more damage than good if used in a real scenario

I think those are just metal pins. It would be impossible to screw the leg to the base and have it be flush.
