Homeless People

I've noticed an increase in Homeless people and Panhandlers. I also noticed that most of the beggers are of a certain race, which is kinda weird.

They all seem to be wearing some sort of camouflage clothing, I guess they are either ex military or pretending to be military. Some make funny signs, smile or try to make eye contact with you, in hopes they make you feel bad for them.

I never give them money.

I use my own money to buy them shit. I have a pretty good hunch that they'd use whatever money I give irresponsibly anyways.

A friend of mine bought a homeless lady that was asking for change a Big Mac meal since she was hanging outside of a McDonalds downtown. She flipped out and asked what the fucked she was supposed to this, she has kids to feed ( I know ), and threw the drink and the bag at us as we were walking away.


What fucks me up the most is when you see some 20 or 30 something guy walk up and ask for change. Does my head in that shit happens to people so fast.

All the homeless people I see are white.

Weird isn't it? I do see Hispanics trying to sell Fruit, or working in manuel labor jobs. And Black people usually sell Gold chains or watches. Or both might be selling illegal stuff. Asains usually have family to fall back on.

I wonder if its because minorites know people wont give them any money?

Or is it because White people dont know how to sell cheap items for money?

Or is it cause the Cops dont arrest White beggers?

I need to stop thinking about this stuff while I'm stuck in traffic and looking at these bums.

Give money to the people who play music/street performers/deserve it.

I hate it when some homeless person just expects you to give them money for nothing.

I used to always give them money, now it's extremely rare. Usually if I give someone money it's a frail old lady, I may be a bastard but my heart isn't made of stone. And if you're 80 and have a crack habit and somehow still alive, who am I to tell you how to live?

I noticed about a year ago that the beggars in Baltimore all had a certain angle. If they were perfectly healthy they would walk on the side of one foot, kinda turning it sideways, to appear gimp.

If they had an injury of some sort, they would always expose it by rolling up the pant leg or sleeve.

If they needed help with things like crutches or wheelchairs, they would always break them.

Maybe I'm cold but there was only one that I felt sorry for. He was missing all of his arms and legs. He had crutches for all of them but all except one arm was broken in half. He kinda wobbled and dragged himself over to all of the cars.

I don't give them money for several reasons:

1. There's one on every corner on my way to and from work. I'd be handing out $40 a day, every day, and I need beer money.

2. One that I did give money to pulled up a bar-stool next to me minutes later.

3. I know for a fact that they all go and stay in a hospice or shelter at night so I'd rather donate to that instead.

Every fucking day, on car 2 on track 1 on the S train between Grand Central and Times Square, there is a panhandler. It's fucking annoying.

There's an MTA employee fucking standing right there too. Kick that fucker off the train please.

I love the argument from people about not giving money to homeless people, because they will spend it on booze. Like people with houses don't spend their money on booze. Give me a break. If you had no money and no job, and you lived on the street or in a shelter, you'd spend the fucking money on drank, too.

Some people are lucky enough to be born with middle class families who will take them in when they're down on their luck. Some aren't. Some people don't have support circles to fall back on. If those people don't deserve a goddamn drink, who does?

I almost always give this one homeless dude some money when I go to a hockey game. He's always outside the arena singing "Home-less black-man dun dun, dun dun dun!" Was funny as fuck the first time I heard it, still is. I gave him a $15 McDonalds gift card because I got it for Christmas and I hate McDonalds. I wonder if he even used it.

I usually give the ones downtown anywhere from what change I have in my pocket up to five bucks. I never ever give to the ones at highway exits, I feel like a lot of them are professional panhandlers.

This one time I had one walk up to me at a gas station and ask for a couple bucks, I was like "Are you going to by alcohol with it?" dude didn't even hesitate, just grinned and said "Fuck yeah." so I gave him $10.
