I wasn't that distracted by Bale's "I'm Batman" voice because throughout the movie I saw a lot of scenes and action sequences lifted pretty much shot for shot from other action flicks. That was much more distracting. It was like watching 6 different movies mashed together during the last 30 minutes. It was still fun to watch but it was like going from Minority Report to Mission Impossible to etc. etc. etc.

The lack of Arnold (and all of the humor) made me feel as if it wasn't really a Terminator movie.

And although I don't think there was, just to be sure, there wasn't an extra scene after the credits was there?

I said months ago, "How the fuck can you make a good Terminator movie with a PG-13 rating?!" and this was the result. Not even close to 1/2.

Got the 9:00pm tickets for tonight and I will give some inputs when I come back.

In addition, it would be somewhat hilarious to see young Kyle Reese say to John Connor hey bitch stop giving me orders and remember who is your daddy. LOL

I bet they were goofing around behind the scenes with I’ am your daddy comments and jokes.

Loved the move and though bale is listed as the lead Sam Worthington was truly the star of the movie.

I honestly didn't miss arnolds cheesy one-liners and this would be a good reboot of the franchise if they don't fuck it up.

Loved how they finally revealed how John conner finally got his Scar.

I love it when people toss this excuse out as their reason for a movie sucking. You do realize the violence in this movie and the older Terminators is almost comparable? Sure there are a couple things you can't do, but if you take a PG13 movie by todays standards and go back 10-15 years, the boundaries that can be pushed are huge. You can't use as much swearing, but does that REALLY make the difference between a good and bad movie? Honestly this movie is nowhere near as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Terminator 3 was rated R, and it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. This one blows T3 away. Sure, it's no James Cameron movie, but few are. For what it was, I thought it was just fine.

Just came from the theatre and I enjoyed it. The action scenes were awesome and so was Marcu's character. His story was more compelling than the rest. Regarding the lack of humour... I mean, really? People are literally living in a hopeless future and fighting against what it seems an unbeatable enemy. What'd you expect, soldiers wisecracking and shit? Didn't care for Arnold either.

I thought it was fine. Batman voice isn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. Looking forward for what they do with the next one, which I think should be judged harsher then this one since it is just setting things up like Terminator 1 did.

Watched it and enjoyed so I don't see what the problem is. If you want a movie to not take anything seriously and throw in random "haha" jokes watch Transformers. Much much MUCH better than the 3rd movie and I liked the
    Spoiler: show
    Arnold cameo terminator
. The DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN seemed overused but it came in at the right moments.

Ok, something that has been bugging me.

The first terminator was sent back just before Conner destroyed skynet mainframe. Ok ok, you somehow have a time machine that can only send biological products, and in a split second decision you send your latest model through... OK. Fine.

2nd movie the machines are somehow still around after skynet mainframe was destroyed and have an even better model. Ok, fine, whatever.

3rd move: same shit, but different model.

4th movie: Ok now the original timeline never happened. Judgement day never went off till a bit later, and skynet is now a virus pretty much:

    1. How is skynet still obsessed with Conner, when he hasnt really dont anything as far as the new skynet is concerned. There was no frantic sending of a terminator to the past right as Connor destroys the Mainframe, for all intents and purposes, skynet shouldnt know anything about Conner.

    2. Who the fuck built the factories. How do you go from a self aware program, to an armada of robots.

    3. How the fuck do robots "miss". We have sentient super robots with time travel capability, but targeting humans is a problem?

Unfortunately you're overthinking what is essentially a brainless action movie. The terminator franchise stopped prettending to be Sci-Fi somewhere around the first 15 or so minutes of T2. When watching an action film franchise it's best not to sweat the details. I saw much symbolism in Marcus throwing a chair through the Female Face of Doom, keeping her from further soliloquies. 'THAT'S ENOUGH OF YOUR CALCULATED EXPOSITION WOMAN IT'S CLOBBERIN' TIME'

Ya I know, but if you suspend all reason in a flick, you lose the reality and connection and the action means nothing. At least pretend to care if your story makes no sense. That or understand it makes no sense and dont take yourself so seriously.

There using the same tactic Star trek used.

Parallel dimension and all. Was explained in the third film that Judgment day is inevitable. that no matter what they did all they ending up doing was delaying it. Another part of Connors dialogue was that everything was happening quicker then he was told was going to happen such as the t-800's being built and he said something along the lines of "It's as if I don't know anything thats going to happen now".

also if you really want to overthink it they could have easily have used the Humans they captured to build the factories.

"they". Who the fuck is they? All that was left was skynet that was basically a virus at the end of the 3rd movie and a few early attack drones (no hands to build).

And no, even if other dimension or timeline, conner never did anything in these timelines to warrant. How are they also aware of these other timelines?

    Shit is retarded Q.Q.

The original timeline still occurs. It just gets pushed back by 10 or so years. That's what Terminator 3 tells you. John Connor still becomes a high ranking figure and eventual leader of the Resistance. Skynet doesn't have to know what John Connor will eventually become. It's actively fighting against him during the events of Terminator 4.

But also, as the others have said, you gotta take what occurs in Terminator with a grain of salt. I love the terminator franchise, but they've played the time travel card so much that logic is kind of out the window at this point. Why send 1 cyborg? Why not send 100? Why wait for John Connor or even Sarah Connor to be born? Just kill his grandparents.

The fact that John Connor and the machines exist as a whole is one big Predestination Paradox in itself. If Kyle Reese and the first T-800 never got sent back to begin with, there wouldn't even be a John Connor or a Skynet.

When there is non-linear time traveling, it becomes really messy. Case in point the Terminator and Star Trek movies. We get into all kinds of shit, involving the above mentioned Ontological Paradox, gives me a headache.

Watched this with a friend last night. Other than some parts being rushed, Bale not shutting the fuck up with his batman voice while interrogating Marcus, or the fast ending into heartstrings, etc.

It was a decent flick. Some of the CGI on the bikes though were horrible. You'd think with some of the shit they did in the Batman movie, that they would of stepped it up a little bit better in this movie.
