Is the fuckin truth son, you see that fight, rashad had nothing for him. I hate that my favorite fighter (rampage) will have to fight him. Hopefully he can prepare a good fight camp. Because as joe rogan said, the era of Lyoto has begun!

I was pretty pleased with the whole UFC 98, seeing Hughes win and Machida beat the piss out of Evans. Also having them throw Soszynski on there again and seeing him win for the 2nd time in 5 weeks was awesome as well.
Yea, I was more excited about Hughes winning. Nover got robbed.
Yeah man, best card since the ultimate 2008 and probably the rest of the year unless rampage can make a hell of a showing and there are other good fights on that card. I was really pleased with the kristof fight as well. I am really glad to see him on his way up. I was really happy when he beat my old uki shane primm, guy is a total richboy douche that has had everything handed to him his entire life. Glad to see him get put in his place.
I am on clouds. Now I just have to wait and get dissapointed by brock vs frank. God I hope brock lesnar gets beat and sent on his way.
Machida is a fucking beast no doubt, im still trying to figure if he is brazilian or if he was born there to japanese parents
It was nice to see him getting cheers from the fans so he should have some drawing power especially if you count the exposure he will get from the next tuf season. I think his strength and conditioning he finally started to do is the reason for his increased power (I think he only started before the thagio fight) or if he is just more aggressive in the right spots.
the man throws the oddest combos from the oddest angles i've ever seen. i honestly don't know how you would train for him except just train what you do and ignore it. i never really thought rashad was that great, but he is extremely fast and powerful which is a good combo.
rashad is in a great camp to get better though. i get the brock hate since he's former wwe guy and whatnot...but i sometimes think people just put him down 'cause it sounds good. the man is a FREAK. i really hope he gets into a good camp and somebody works with him because his athletic gifts are beyond compare in the mma world. when i was at miletich camp, he came in to "try" mma and see how he liked it. he through, then heavyweight champ and always elusive and confusing, tim silvia around like a ragdoll. it was nuts. i can't wait to see what he can become with the right team around him and the right focus.
Evans landed 2 punches that fight. No kicks, elbows or anything else. Machida will be champ for quite some time.
man i seriously jumped out of my seat when i saw machida light him up like that
rashad is a great fighter but when he grabbed his nuts in the griffin fight i was itchin to see someone whoop his ass. I was also never a hughes fan untill i saw hughes vs frank trigg 2. And he made me a believer.
The first time i saw machida fight i knew he was gonna be something awesome. I think thats how most people view him, my only hope is that someone doesn't knock him off with a lucky shot. If there is anybody that WOULDN'T get knocked off by a lucky shot its machida. But lets face it this is MMA and anything is possible.
Rampage is also my favorite fighter. This is going to be an epic division for awhile

Like a Boss.
that gif is made of win
Machida did take 2 or 3 medium shots in a earlier exchange so at least we know he doesn't have a goulet level terrible chin. Rampage will have a very, very hard time with him since he is a plant your feet and throw kind of guy, I just don't see his punches arriving in time. Maybe he could push lyoto up to the fence and try to land some short but strong strikes and hope to hurt him.
I hope he can defend once or twice, and then ends up being the guy who has to defend the 205 belt vs. Anderson Silva.
I think that would be a tremendous fight.
I agree, 205 has always been my favorite weight class and now that I get to see it represented like this it is amazing.
Now if they could just bring fedor in.... Not to mention lil nog, arona, and overeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeem
What 205 pounder do you think has the best shot at beating Lyoto? If shogun is legit again I think he is the biggest threat since he seems to be the most well rounded and his kicks could be effective since Lyoto doesn't seem to counter kicks as well as he does punches.
And Barnett and Fedor are good friends and don't want to fight each other either.
In the world of boxing and MMA, "never" is only until the next contract offer. I'd like to wax nostalgic about good friends and good times, but if given the right opportunity I'd bet they'll fight - and if Silva beats Forrest, and Machida beats Rampage and, say, Shogun, it's the fight -everyone- will want to see.
That's a lot of 'ifs' though - the 205 belt trades hands more often than the suitcase in Pulp Fiction.
Rashad and Jardine were pressured to fight each other even before the Jardine/Quinton fight, yet they kept stating that they wouldn't, even with Dana basically telling them how it was going to be. Kinda the same situation, except those two Brazilians are extremely nationalist.
Side note: Machida will remain 205 champ for a loooooooong time.
