205 is entertaining because there isn't one dominant guy - it's very unpredictable, and I like that.
Watching GSP and Silva and Fedor dismantle everyone they face is only entertaining to a point.

Shogun I have faith will end up being a contender. Just speaking from a health perspective it's amazing that he's even fighting after the injuries he's suffered. Let alone knocking an aging Chuck The Snowcone Liddell out. If he can stay healthy Shogun will be relevent for some time to come.
Knocking Liddell out is no big accomplishment anymore, the guy has taken more shots to the face than Jenna Jamison.
Shogun wont be the same in the UFC, if they piss tested in japan his sample would have burned through the container.
It would be great if just 5% of this board knew what the fuck they were talking about when it came to mixed martial arts and not just a bunch of bandwagon retards.
Relevant section of Pride FC fighter contract:
"Fighter agrees to be tested immediately preceding and following the fight in each event, to confirm negative results of the use of marijuana, cocaine, barbiturates, and other illegal substances. Should any test be positive, fighter shall forfeit all amounts payable under this agreement granted for such event. Performance-enhancing stimulants of the steroid-based family are specifically excluded from the scope of the tests and the prohibition in this section."
Yes, fighters who specifically are not tested for performance enhancing drugs and fighting for hundreds of thousands of dollars have too much budo to use them because it's a japanese organisation and they're a bigger bunch of weabo fags than you guys.
My bad I guess.
It's gonna be somebody explosive that takes Machida down. Rampage has a chance because he likes to set the pace, but I doubt he will take him down. Machida is very good at concealing his weak points because he is extremely patient but very explosive himself when he sees an opportunity to finish his opponent. It's gonna take someone with a strong chin and great cardio to figure out Machida, or a lucky knockout blow to finish him. There's just not enough contenders in LHW that have the style and skill to take him down.
Hate to say it, but Ultimate Fighter needs to focus on Light Heavy Weight and Middle Weight during an upcoming season because the show does bring in some decent fighters.
LHW has too many post-prime favorites and Machida, although very talented, is boring. Shogun is the only real contender at the moment. If Rampage manages to knock Machida out, he will not hold the belt for long.
MW never really had a good pool of fighters. Hell, Rich Franklin held the title for a bit and he has very little skill. Anderson Silva has no competition at all in the contenders.
Next season is all heavyweights...and I'm glad, 'cause the heavyweight division needs the influx of talent more than the other divisions.
edit: btw, what do you guys think about rampage foregoing a title shot and going after evans? It just seems odd to me to give up a title shot to fight a rival who you have no real history with.
According to Sergio Non of USA Today, Jackson and Evans will fight in the traditional season-ending coach-vs.-coach fight sometime in December. Although Jackson was promised the first shot at Lyoto Machida's belt, which he won from Evans this past weekend at UFC 98, Machida will make his first title defense against an opponent to be named shortly. According to White, Jackson said his desire to coach against Evans was stronger than his desire to fight immediately for the title.
That sounds like it does. That's a season I will be setting for the dvr. weeeeee
In one of Dana's UFC youtube blogs, he's backstage w/ rampage after his latest victory (jardine right?) and he's asking him if he wants to take on evans in 8 weeks. Rampage wasn't sure because he had an injured jaw and maybe didn't want to start his camp right away. Dana then says something along the lines of "ok, you'll fight the winner of evans vs machida"
tl;dr If you find the blog believable, it does matter what he wants.
