PS3 from HD to LD

So the lamp on my T.V died. So I went out and bought standard component cables for my PS3 and plugged it into my bedroom T.V. Only problem is, my PS3 is still outputting in 1080p, thus it won't play. I was wondering what I had to do to change this. I know my brother went through the same thing when he bought my 60gig from me and I was actually the one to fix it for him. But for the life of me I can't remember what the fuck I did.

Make sure the PS3 is in stand-by, hold down the power button until the second set of beeps. This will reset video settings and change it back to standard output.

Not that I'm picking on null. But that does kinda suck that this question keeps getting asked lol. I haven't had to move my ps3 off my tv *knock on wood* but you would think it would auto detect or something.
