Ugh, get out of here with your Lost shit.
And if you already said you don't like V, you can get out too.

I'm sorry but people who just promote the hell out of OMG LOST LOST LOST really get on my nerves. Thats what I was conveying earlier, I'm sorry you got the wrong impression, I guess you love to read way to much into things.... but then again you do like Lost so I should have assumed you do!![]()
Well, for one 'awful' doesn't have an e in it. Aweful would be full of awe, or awesome! Okay, Gramma Nazi aside...
I enjoy 'Lost' because it keeps throwing curve balls and I have not been able to predict anything. Having watched far too many television shows and movies I have a great store of plot lines in my head and can usually predict exactly what will happen in any given production. I'm generally unable to do this in Lost, which makes it interesting to me. I also enjoy all the crazy mythological and scientific references in the show and how they are pulling all kinds of bits of human history together to weave the story. Also, 'Lost' is generally, with a few notable exceptions, an extremely well written, acted, and directed production. Even if you ignored all the hocuspocus you're probably still going to enjoy the drama. One of the great things about 'Lost' is that a lot of the characters have had their complete emotional histories shown to us. The motivations behind the characters makes it difficult to discern the good guys and the bad guys. You have people who hate Jack and people who love Ben. And they manage to do this without creating too many Mary Sue moments or outright emoness.
Anything post-'Lost' is having difficulties because the television audience is getting a lot more intelligent and any science fiction productions will automatically be held up against 'Lost' as the bar to reach.
'V', being a remake of a series has a lot of work cut out for it. It has to do justice to the original and it has to live up to 'Lost' and other great science fiction productions. The pacing is a bit off. It is a bit slow. They need to speed up the action a bit more, but not too much. Otherwise, the writing is quite good. They obviously want to craft a very in depth uniVerse. The suspense of belief is not that hard to reach with the given circumstances of the plot. I think all of the characters are fairly well done, with the exception of the teenage guy, who is a complete douchebag. If they shored up their characters to be less emo/Mary Sue and more realistic/normal, then they could have a very good show.
Technically, you and Boyiee bashed Lost out of nowhere. ;/ I'm not sure where you get the idea that people are promoting Lost...Of course, fan of the show are going to jump on a bait like this.
There is a reason why Lost has such a strong fanbase. Maybe you don't like it..that's fine, but you can't deny that 10millions viewers love it, and that it ranks pretty high in their "all time favorite" list. How something like this could happen? Lost isn't something you can watch casually, and it's not directed at a particular audience (generation/gender). I don't know how much you watched, or how, but if you don't understand why it's loved by so many people, there is good chance you're missing the point of the show.
New here? I thought this was a discussion board, where liking it and not liking it can be discussed. You can get out if you can't deal with that. V sucks so far, and has a lot of work to do.
They could easily make it more enjoyable, and I'm sure they will, cause step 1 is killing off that faggot kid. That will be an immediate gain for the show lol. The pacing was ok in the pilot, but needs to pick up again. I want to see someone get eaten, everyones just been attacked with... knives... which is pretty un-alien like, besides the spikesphere, where is the advanced weaponry and the eating, i want the eating.
The kid of the FBI agent is a fucking douche, everytime he's on screen it feels like I'm watching some shitty Disney show.
I'll watch this show, mainly to kill time at work, otherwise, bleh.
Yeah the son sucks, but I think he's sorta needed. It's the easiest way to show how people are so devoted towards the visitors "I'll do anything, just tell me what to do" Maybe if it was her husband instead of son, that would've been better, but gotta get the younger demographic somehow...
but does he have to be such a fag emo biker wannabe?
For those who are familiar with the original mini-series, I think the son is playing the Robin role and the blonde V is playing the Brian role. In other words, the V's want to experiment with human-visitor reproduction, and they've decided the son and the blonde are their Adam & Eve.
Just![]()
Thanks for adding to the discussion.
@deft:
if they tone down on the kid a little (really not sure what demographic or audience he is representing, it's like they have no idea what today's youth is like) I could keep watching cause the blonde v is pretty cute. If the pacing picks up a little it could end up more entertaining.
Spoiler: show
(and yes that happened on the old show, wiki that shit)
As for Lost/V comparsions, the show wouldn't be compared so much for starters if they didnt copy the intro video of each episode. Ooooooo, show the logo with ominous music... Lost set the bar so high that other shows cant help but to be compared to its awesomeness.
If you are going to post spoilers from the original, might want to spoiler tag it.
Ehh, didnt think something from the original show would have counted as spoilers for the current one but I edited it to add spoiler tags. Granted if the show followed the old series....

I'm fine with it, as long as they don't fuck it up and make this kid into the interspecies love interest.
I always had cool parents, they would've smiled at me and shut the door if they found me with that chick.
