Problems installing FFXI

Been trying to wrap my head around this problem for a couple of weeks now and got directed here for some help.

I just recently bought FFXI Vana'diel Collection 2008 for my laptop. I play on xbox so never installed it on windows before. Every time I insert the game disc it brings up an Adobe reader file with a FFXI manual. Tells me how to install, play, etc. Shortly after being up it tells me I need a newer version of adobe reader that I don't feel like paying for.

I noticed last night that the 1 and only disc that was included in the box says "Manual Disc". My questions are: Is this a known problem with Vista; Am I missing a disc; and lastly what are some thing I can possibly do to fisx this.

Any information would be greatly appreciated cause like I said, been trying to figure this out for some time.

There should have been another disc in the box that says Game Disc instead of Manual Disc.

Thank Zeb for that clarification. Called square enix and they told me they couldn't send me another disc. I've looked for places to download FFXI but came up short. I have the registration code but just need the product. My question is if anyone knows where I could download it, and again I have the FFXI Vana'Diel Collection 2008.

There have been torrents posted on this very site. DOwnload the game through one of those. The current direct downloads require you to purchase the game from the site hosting the download. Torrents are the way to go for this, and not hard to find on torrent search engines.

Maybe I've missed something... but just take the game back to where you bought it and get a replacement?

Huh? Acrobat updates are free.
