it doesn't matter how many people the Japanese troops killed. We're not talking about troops. We're talking about the women, children, babies, etc that were killed in the bombs.
Lemme get what you're saying right..
Japanese troops killed Chinese civilians. -> Bad
Us killing Japanese civilians -> Good!
Makes sense. I get where you're coming from now.
A city of a quarter millions at Nanking was massacred after they surrendered to the Japanese troops.
The Nanking Massacre, commonly known as the Rape of Nanking and known in Japan as the Nanjing Incident, refers to a six-week period following the capture of Nanking, then capital of the Republic of China, on December 9, 1937. International military tribunals convened at the end of World War II determined that, during this period, the Imperial Japanese Army committed atrocities such as rape, looting, arson and the execution of prisoners of war and civilians rising to the level of war crimes.
Lemme know when you visit the Hiroshima peace park & museum and you tell me that shit was justified. Or better yet, watch White light/black rain
YouTube - White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nag
Watch the whole movie and tell me you could justify what we did.
Good for you! See you in some other thread then.
Nobody is taking any side. There is no side to be had. All that remains are facts. The fact is that Japan was willing to surrender long before the atomic bombs were dropped. They dropped them anyways. Hundreds of thousands of people died painfully, and still, many of those who did not die in the initial blast, became cancer-ridden and died painfully later.
Americans should have little to no say on the matter of certain countries holding nuclear weapons. I mean, we invaded Iraq on the base that they had WMD's. The big mean evil that the US had to topple. And, we did, and there were none. And now, Iran and North Korea are developing nuclear power for their country, and weapons.
The use of nuclear weapons should not be condoned. Their development should be shunned, but in the world we live in, more terrible weapons are being developed for future wars right under our noses. Our economy is going to the shitter, and you know what's always good for the economy? War.
We're fighting wars that could have been prevented decades ago. We let North Korea get to this point. We let Osama Bin Laden, and Saddam Hussein do what they did, and now, we're probably going to fight them in a war that could have been prevented. This is really disturbing to me. I'm not going to buy into the bullshit.
As a junior high student, I was so goddamn depressed when 9/11 occurred. Thousands lost their lives. And, little did I know at the time, that the very man they blamed for the attack was aided by the USA decades earlier. And, I'm not going to get into any of the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11. I'm just fucking not going to. It hurts too much to think about this mass delirium we're all walking into.
I have blood on my hands, and I can't wash it off. Look at how much we've all been influenced by Japanese culture. We all love anime, and the video games that come from Japan, and look at what we did to them. How can you guys say that this bullshit is alright?

Can you read japanese? It says that these soldiers were in a contest to see who could kill 100 people first.
I guess it's easier to disregard civilians lives when you fight all your wars on the other side of the planet?
And American troops don't sign up to go shoot the 'rag heads' right?
It doesn't matter what their motivation was.
This is the point you're making, correct me if I'm wrong:
The Japanese had killed thousands of Chinese during their war offensive. However, down the line Japan had realized that they had lost the war and were ready to surrender. But rather than let them do that we should say fuck it and bomb the piss out of them just to get them back for killing the Chinese.
You don't see the problem with that logic?
If those were american civilians, there will be no sympathy. And you made it out as if nazis and germany people are black and white.
You really think if there are that many americans died, we would have sat around and tried to minimize the damage like we did with japan?
