    Is it possible to burn avi format into a dvd so it plays on my xbox?

    i have roxio as a default burner on my laptop..

    DVD Flick

    Make sure you read the guides so you know how to use everything (don't worry, it's not difficult), and save your project every time before you start burning, just in case you experience a crash.

    thanks for the link and quick answers. im gonna try this DVD flick thing and let you know if it works.

    also, whats a reliable free dvd ripper? im currently using a trial version of Magic DVD Ripper

    If your xbox is wired to your home network you could try Tversity to stream the files to your xbox instead of wasting DVDs. But that'll only work on your home network of course!

    Any video file is convertible to video DVD as long as you have the codecs and the proper conversion programs. Video DVD is just MPEG 2 video with a specific folder layout and filenames. Decoding and reencoding the video as MPEG 2 will get the job done, and then all you have to do is set up a menu and chapter divisions. Nero has been able to do this for a while, and there are plenty of free programs out that can do it.

    use a usb stick, play video from there, works like a charm
