I've seen fast return work once in like 2 years. Not that it really matters, the longest part of getting your next game from Gamefly is the days-long wait while they try to find a game on your list that isn't massively understocked.

My Blockbuster only seems to carry the 'top 5' of games. So if I had to depend on their selection I would be quite unhappy.

No PES2010, no FIFA10 (but 10 copies of Madden10).
No Demon's Souls, no White Knight Chronicles I am sure (but 10 copies of DIRT 2).

Just saying, not sure what your store is like but mine is pretty meh most of the time. I was excited that they got No More Heroes 2 in... even though it will be rented out for weeks.

I got Mass Effect 2 release day from Gamefly and just sent back Borderlands (2 Game plan) on Monday (they got it today) in the hopes that they send me NMH2 or White Knight next week.

I am much happier since upping to the 2 game plane also, as it alleviates some of the 1 week+ turnaround pain.

I have never had an issue with Gamefly. I usually wait no more than two days after returning a game. Sounds like Gamefly doesn't want you guys as customers. Because you're faggots.

I must admit... I thought the same thing. I am a dick. I admit, I have clicked that damn button a few times myself. I have never kept a game, don't get me wrong, but sometimes GD THEY TAKE SO LONG to return my game.

There have been a few times that I have been staring at my empty queue a week after mailing in my game, with 'High' or 'Available Now' titles mocking me. Click the button, quick "WTF dudes?" email and wow... look at that, next game shipped.

I'm always back and forth on getting this. Seems like the thought goes through my head once a month. The local blockbuster is shiiiiiit. They hardly ever carry good games, fuck atm they aren't even carrying big named games like Unchartered 2 and Modern Warfare.

As for keeping games, a few years ago I kept a game a little to long and after a while I just didn't feel like taking it back. A couple months down the road I forgot I had the game and went to rent something. When they mentioned it, I gave them the most pathetic puppy dog eyes and told them I had been having money troubles. The women wiped my sleight clean. I'll never do it again but damn it felt good.

I just started using GameFly last month, overall I'm pretty happy with their service. Depending on where you live games come decently quick, but it all depends on the availability of said game.

It depends on where you live, here in LA Gamefly ships games fast.

When i place games that have not come out yet on my list they ship them out a day before so that i get the game on the release date. Any other game if it's medium or higher on availability will ship out the following day and i will get it within 1 day of their email saying it was shipped.

I started gamefly a bit over a year ago. They were terribly slow during my free trial month and kept shipping me "Left 4 Dead" for whatever reason. They ended up giving me another two months free. During those two months they got considerably better, so I never did cancel.

I just don't expect to get new games the first month they're out.

Was thinking about doing game fly, but as it is with amazon, they generally knock off $5~ and give a $10 "future credit" with most of the big titles. This additional $15 off, generally means when I resell the game when I'm finished that I actually make money. (I just sold Uncharted2 for 44 +3 (shipping) -8 amazon fee) Basically giving me the 40 I spent originally. Just can't see the point with the amount of time I have to play to spend that much to have 2 games out at the same time. If you don't have two out, you won't have anything to play for the 3~ days for it to get to them and ship a new game.

I live far enough away from the CA shipping center that my 2-3 day wait for them to get my game makes sense. As far as getting launch titles on launch day, I am used to the turnaround time enough that if i send my game back at the right time... make sure the launch title has been on my Queue and pretty much nothing else is, I tend to get the game.

This past week they got my game on Saturday, and Monday shipped out Mass Effect 2. Only other option for them would have been No More Heroes 2. I have had it backfire of course, where nothing gets shipped, then my queue just sort of hibernates until i send an email. At which point then nicely reply "WELL WTF MAN... YOU HAVE LIKE 2 GAMES IN YOUR EFFING QUEUE!" and ship something. Right now the only available title i have in my queue is NMH2 and White Knight for next week, so hopefully (since they recieved Darksiders today) I get WK. I would settle for either, and will be playing the shit out of Mass Effect 2 either way.

So yeah, I am happy with their service, once i learned how to use it and get the most out of it.

I actually think Pittsburgh might be a hub as well. I've never received a game later than two days. My brother in law and best both have the same experiences with Gamefly as well. It's kind of surprising that you guys have had such bad times with them.

I really like my gamefly subscription. The only oddity I've found is that when things ship from Tampa (I live in South Carolina) it takes a day longer to get to me compared to the one day it takes to get to me when it ships from Pittsburgh. That's the only complaint I have, even though it's a very small one.
