Woman Raped in Washington Park as Hundreds Watched

Hours ago (Saturday, May 23) a woman in her 20’s was raped in a Washington park in front of hundreds of witnesses, and nobody stepped forward to try and stop it from happening.

Anyone else here finds this disturbing at what's happening with today's society? I can't begin to imagine why anyone could just walk by a homeless guy raping a young woman and not do anything.

Then there's this Bystander Effect, which I find extremely disappointing. What ever happened to common sense? Not to be overly dramatic about this, but really America? Step up.

my friend was taking the subway during rush hour, she had to stand because there wasnt any seats available. some guy came up behind her and wrapped his headphone cord around her neck and started choking her. she screamed and tried to fight back and no one did anything...he eventually got off the train at the next stop. ppl just seriously suck.
