Yeah they had to. Broken home doesn't always mean parents split up. Them living in fear of Mike's dad totally describes a "Broken Home" and I cannot wait till November !!!!

    I'm a bit torn.
    Spoiler: show
He's finally got the guy that burned him. And the guy has him by the short and curlies, which as we all know means that person has started the countdown timer for their eventual demise.

We're quickly reaching the end of Burn Notice. They can't throw in "there's someone higher up" anymore without it feeling like an asspull.

    Qalbert da man.

    Spoiler: show
Did Michael really think it was going to be as simple as giving Anson (f that's his real name) the virus and calling it good? The moment he he got that security clearance, he should have known how useful he would be to keep on a hook.

I feel like sometimes he's just too naive conveniently for the plot. You would think being a super spy would make him more cynical.

They made the character seem way too stupid for this thing to play out the way it is.

This Anson plot-line could have been done in a single episode more convincingly. This guy's all out in the open, seems to be alone in his cause, and hasn't said anything about having plans that protected him(ala that gray haired guy - if Michael tried anything funny that tape of him discussing the big black dude's whatever the shit would be released and Michael would have to face the power of the black dude and his small army).

This is almost exactly like the episode before last season's season finale. Gray haired dude has information Michael wants destroyed and is making Michael do stuff. Mike was plotting against the gray haired dude from the beginning, how come this time he simply forgoes that kind of plan of action and wants to satisfy Anson?

The episode wasn't very good for me because it was cheapened by literally forcing this plot to work and thereby cheapening how "great" michael/sam/fiona are. But the story couldn't have moved forward for seasons to come without these devices, I suppose..

A lot of that stuff is implied. The guy is "the last one" of the group that framed him, that has all sorts of shit on him and all sorts of resources it took Michael, the best spy ever, 5.5 seasons to find them all. It's simply implied that if he's killed, shit gets sent to the cops/cia/fbi/etc. and lands Michael/Fiona in deep shit.

A reason why Michael can be naive at times is that the reason he still wants to work for the government is because he really wants to believe in the good of it all, which opens someone up to being naive at times.

Sure, it's implied - Anson wouldn't go around buying drinks for the people whose balls he has in a vicegrip without fail safes in place. But you're telling me this Anson plot-line "fits" the character Michael is? He should have been plotting against Anson from the moment he revealed himself. But he's been doing nothing but trying to satisfy him. As if that'd work lol

It's just weird.. Larry and that gray haired guy have done this like 5 times to Michael and each time the gut instinct of Michael has been to beat them at the spy game. Same with carmella or whatever that crazy blond bitch's name was.

I love Jere Burns so much as a villain.

And it's quite obv that the problem is that Michael is less calculating when it comes to fiona. He's in a much weaker position than if he had to worry about himself and only himself. Also, the level Anson is working on is completely different than the admittedly impressive level Brennan (RIP best character on burn notice) was working on. This guy has been in michael's head from the minute this shit started. He's one of the few people that has spoken with michael's mom about his father and he's in on michael in every personal way that any other villain has never quite reached except by coincidence and not actually knowing the gravity of the situation they were in. He said it in the episode, the reason he's so willing to state "You're fucked, I own you" is because he literally does. Michael would take a risk with himself but he's not going to (initially) take a risk that puts fiona at risk. Don't worry, give it like 3 more episodes and michael's gonna try to start something. I'd be surprised if what happens is screwed though, that Anson anticipates it and it leads into some sort of runaway/rescue/protect fiona deal in season 6. I don't see a character 5.5 seasons in the making getting got with a gat to the gut in just half a season, this has some great potential and really once Anson is gone, what's left but the ramifications of that? The sheer consequences of Anson as a character and his possible death has the potential to last well past the point of his character perishing. Think trinity in dexter, that's how big anson is.

In 9 episodes i might be wrong, he might get killed and this shit may just never go anywhere, but I personally doubt it.

I missed the first 10 mins, but interesting ep. I also don't consciously remember the last 5 minutes either, besides that the dude's house was pretty much empty, but I don't remember any dialogue between him and michael. Anyone care to enlighten me?

    Spoiler: show
First ten minutes was trying to bug Anson's car and chase him down to his living space. Last five was Sam and Fiona finding nothing but the transmitter on his balcony (though as big as it was, maybe patio would be appropriate), while Anson recalls an event from Michael's past that maybe indicates he'll never leave Michael alone.

    Spoiler: show
I know they're supposed to be spies and all but can we stop getting the same:

Bad Guy kidnapped someone to help someone w/ his evil plan -> 4-5 plans from michael etc while fiona(or someone other than michael)/mom do other stuff -> bad guy won't pull the trigger because they still need them for the master plan -> bad guy gets fucked over because he doesn't know when to pull the trigger

    ?

Yeah, the bad guy should just pull the trigger and end the show.
