What does /SAM and 6-hit have to do with KC RNG? KC RNG subs NIN in meripo (same reason MNK subs NIN). If you just want to have some fun with KC other than DRK zerg then this is the way to do it. KC + Hellfire or Culverin + haste/acc gear for TP, macro in STR for Slug. I've broken 3k Slugs on birds with /NIN and Hellfire+1, with the proper food/buffs you could probably break 4k with Culverin. The gil loss isn't bad b/c you're only blowing ammo on weapon skills, and you should be able to throw together a reasonable set of gear from your other jobs if you sold all your RNG stuff.i do have ranger levelled and fully merited. I ended up retiring it due to my linkshell having four yoichi's, and countless other great rangers in ls, so i wasnt using it much. Also having a gjallarhorn I only went as ranger to an event once in a blue moon and just considered all the gear a money sink and better off spent somewhere else (kclub zerg)
edit: also all my white mages bitch about any melee who subs samurai as an MP sink, so automatically nobody will understand a 6 hit possible with /sam lol
yeahyeah i get the point kraken lame with war in merit pts lol, just wanted to light a fire. i was going to end up regearing rng anyways once i got a club.
6 hit was talking about pre-club 6 hit ranger build on ranged attacks.
I knew a war who would always use man/kraken and fulltime war AF feet and osode. And by always use man/kraken I mean always--on Nyzul dahaks, on Capricious Cassie before I made him take that shit off. But hey it did help me learn Body Slam.
And re: organics: I can't conceive how organics can compete with Company Sword with a full party or Perdu Hanger. Especially with Ridill, Perdu Hanger is double win, since you'll be swinging Ridill fractionally more of the time. But yeah axe joyeuse wru...
What do you WS in Loth that also provides for good WS accuracy at ~100 TP? That damage is obscene; I have a KC RNG and I definitely can't pull those numbers and have >85% WS ACC.I've broken 3k Slugs on birds with /NIN and Hellfire+1, with the proper food/buffs you could probably break 4k with Culverin.
Re: Perdu
Eyeballing it, I'd say 3 STR, 10 ATK, 3% Crit and 5 ACC, 15 ATK is a wash, leaving DMG 44 Delay 225 vs. DMG 48 Delay 264. Considering the TP generation of the offhand Ridill, the lower DMG/Delay sword loses quite a bit of ground in Vorpal Blade.
Company Sword, you've probably got a point.
Lowering delay on the non-ridill sword speeds up TP generation and damage though, since you'll be swinging ridill more of the time.
Non-hasted perdu/ridill gets .755 attacks per second, vs. .695 for organics/ridill, for an 8.6% increase in swing speed.
Perdu > Organics but that's like saying Christina Aguilera > Britney Spears. If you seriously insist on this bullshit, use a fucking Joyeuse.
Yeah, if you have a Ridill but not Joytoy, go fucking get one.
Swordchucks is the whole point of Ridill these days, I think.
should be meriting with RDM BRD BRD COR(DD build) DRG/SAM WAR/SAM
but yea i played around with man/kraken on lower floors in salvage and it worked ok, not much better than gaxe but it sure as hell was fun (*'-')b
Know what's functional? Doing more damage.Quote:

Ridill/Joyeuse beats the hell out of it at birds, and I'd imagine is better at mamools also, but Organics is underrated in comparison to Maneater.
Yeah. I get better results with org/rid than man^jugg/rid. It let me drop my axe merits and keep 8/8 sword. That's probably why it wins parses for me. Hell, I don't even own an axe anymore, so the extra inventory and gil is nice. I only merit with war as well and can't allocate 8/8 GA to really use it at it's full potential. My combat merits are tied up by my event DDs. Really wish they'd bump that up again...
As far as the KC idea, just no. Use it when you're with friends just fucking around and whatnot, but you take a significant hit on your overall damage with it compared to other available options.
For DW without rid I'd say go man/joy or jugg/man in merits. The damage is pretty close, so it's going to come down to your merits/gear/mobs/food/etc that dictate which set up would be the best overall damage.
For bigger stuff if you really want to DW, man/jugg. Brass Jag+1/Jugg can be pretty fun in northlands dyna, gods, fafnir, random shit. Can pop off some pretty nice true strikes.
And yes, I know the shit storm of comments you're all wanting to pop off about DWing faf and such about how retarded it is blah blah. Try to keep in mind that's not the issue I addressed here. It's what's fun, yet still functional, as a DW war.
Also, saying <this> is better on low defense stuff and <that> is better on high defense stuff is false unless the comparison includes one option that influences attack or mob defense. Organics has 10 attack and 3% crit, which is very, very slim. Ridill/Joyeuse is still going to do better on Mamool if it's going to do better on squishier stuff. Yes, Joyeuse has piercing bonus. But still, that just means it wins on birds by that much more.
Rampage has an extra hit, and its first hit is .5, so basically it's half a hit more, except that hit also has a chance to double attack (which is a 1.0 hit again). So no. Organics sucks. Farm that shit, sell that shit, laugh at gimps buying said shit but kick them from your parties if need be.
Yeah, you're right. Idk man, I just get stoned and don't think shit all the way through sometimes, lol.
And no, I'm not being sarcastic.
:D
Hey, the most important part is having fun. For me though big part of the fun is maximizing potential, but then again, I'm an Economics major. D:
Edit: god damn the : D smiley is fucking ugly.
1. WAR/SAM Great Axe
2. WAR/NIN Ridill/Joyeuse
3. WAR/NIN Axe/Ridill
4. WAR/NIN Axe/Joyeuse
In order from best to worst (Sometimes you can switch 2 and 3). Notice Kraken Club isn't on any of them. Go get a Joyeuse. If you use Kraken Club on WAR, not only do you make life difficult for everybody involved, you make yourself look like a dumbass. So I would recommend, ya know, not doing it.
Recently had a party with a Axe / KC WAR. A SAM in 4/5 JSE and full time W turban was beating him according to my friend with the parse.
The WAR telled me during the party "0TP on Birds sux". I was temped to be like "Lose the gimp ass KC and stop giving them TP to take yours away dumbass", but decided not too.
rofl. Perfect example right there ^
I consider myself fortunate to have avoided warriors like that in the example above.
Every now and then I'll put my flag up for a pick up party to make myself feel better, but then I actually get an invite and am thankfully AFK.
