oh... I just got it, the thing about the coasters >.>
I'm terribly slow.
I see a Dexter shopping spree in my future
Dammit why did you have to bump this thread and remind me how sad I am that we have to wait another 5 months or so before the next season starts.
probably going to be longer than that. the actor who plays dexter has cancer, remember?
not to necrobump, but was google'ing this for its release date since i forgot and saw this:
http://blog.zap2it.com/korbitv/2010/...n-decided.html
the info isnt so bad. but im kinda curious about a few things they released for the audience to know.
"Apparently some of that fascination will revolve around Dexter's self-revelation. Though Dex has always felt that he's been honest with himself, it seems his inner voice has been hiding a few things."
im assuming they're talking about his conversations with Harry. or is it just the misc conversations he has with himself? lol
"Also, be prepared to see Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) get very protective of her brother during this time. "
sounds like dex will have a worthy opponent this season, to have his sis protecting him. but im assuming its gonna be someone in the inside of the miami metro. im betting someone found a linking connection with dex and trinity that could pin on Rita, and now they're gonna go all "doakes" on dex. and im willing to bet its Quinn(the guy who looks like Weltall). and he's even deadlier just because that guy's already a dirty cop (remember the money he took from the crime scene?) and will go the extra mile to get his shit done, lol.
those are just my assumptions though
your prediction is rehashing the plot of 2 past seasons into the new one? they're too good for that![]()
I dunno about that. In the source material Deb knows about Dexter and supports him. I know book/TV shows are different but that'd be going in a completely different direction. And from what I gather the TV show has mostly just expanded upon characters and the first huge huge difference between TV show and book plots is actually the S4 finale, but maybe I'm forgetting something.
In the books certain people aren't dead.
Brian isn't dead (wiki doesn't mention him being a character later on though) and Doakes is near-useless but alive, not a big change. And La Guerta is alive in the TV show, but they're all rather minor characters. I consider Rita to be a major character and Deb not knowing about Dexter a major difference, so those are big changes. But for Deb to go the complete opposite direction seems like it's too different.
I mean the books and series have followed loosely a bit.
S1/Book1 were both about Brian.
S2/Book2 were both about Doakes being suspicious and being killed by not-Dexter.
I've never read the books, so I don't know what happens from them. I'm just talking purely from the show, they've been setting up for a confrontation. When Deb found out about Dexter's past, there was that moment in the garage scene where you can tell she just plain didn't trust Dexter and was seeing him in a totally different light. Rita being killed will, imo, just amplify that.
Well in the book's Deb knew from basically the beginning (she woke up when Icetruck was about to kill her I think), so pretty much everything is different. I also thought that maybe she figured it out in that scene though, since it was like the perfect moment to be suspicious.
Dexter books:
Brian is dead, he and Laquerta(sp) killed each other. And Deb knows about Dexter because Brian looked so much like him so she thought it was actually him.
Doakes never "dies" in the books. He just had his feet/hands/tongue taken off.
Not done w/ book 3 yet so dunno D;
They pretty much just took book 1 and went from there and made the characters develop independently from the books from the very first season - expecting anything to come over from the books is silly.
The only inspiration (?) they took is cody/astor having their own dark passengers.
and even that is pretty debatable and has only been vaguely hinted at, I think given the circumstances, if its going to develop it will be this season
Aster and Cody are nothing like they are in the book. I must have missed the reference to them having dark passengers ;/
Also, best part of book 1? Laquerta dies :D
Also Angel is a lab tech, not a detective.
And what's his asian guy is exactly the same lol.
