    Ugh windower binding App/windows keys

Can anyone help me or explain why this isn't working as intended?

I'm trying to bind that little windows key between CTRL and ALT to use for stun macro. I'm just using the bind command and even if I put /p hello or /check <t>, doesn't matter, the binded key only fires off once every 3-5 presses, it's random.

There's a vague explanation on windower forums:

Note use of the apps or windows key modifiers is not compatible with macros which use the windows or apps key by themselves as a bind)

I don't get what this means... so what's point of binding those? I remember this working before until I think an updated windower came out..

It'd probably be helpful if you posted what your scripting for it. Assuming you use Spellcast, I think all you should need is:

    bind windows stun

Honestly, I would never bind the Windows key, so I wouldn't be aware of any issues that would arise. You'll probably have more luck in the windower forums or the irc.

I have bind apps /heal on for my Red Mage, but usually it doesn't fire, or is unreliable at best, so I just go back to ctrl-h. I had it on apps long before I started using spellcast, with a txt file to swap +hmp gear and heal on, then left it there out of habbit. I don't have anything else bound to apps+whatever. I think I'm just going to get rid of that bind.

On the other hand, I have lots of win+#'s bind for all jobs. For melees, it's win1-3 for 3 most used WS's (5 for SAM), and for RDM, it's ` & 1 for gear swaps, 2-4 for sleeps, 8-0 for SS/phalanx/blink and those have never failed me that I know of.

My guess would be just don't use only apps or win keys, use apps+something and win+something and see if that helps.

Yes. The character to indicate the windows key is "@", so @1 is WIN+1.

    /bind @2 input /ma Sleepga <t>

    hit win+2 = sleepga on <t>

I believe you can do the same with apps, but not 100% sure, as I've never bound anything to apps+#.

You can also bind win+letters, too. For a while I had "bind @i input /satchel" but I found it easier to just type "/sat*tab*>enter>enter"
