What if that birthday party has 150 people there? Then, does it become the same thing?

Yeah it does. 150 at once is /= to 15-20 every single week.

You find a location that is able to handle that traffic capacity, not bring it to an area that isn't.

If I'm going to have that many people at a party, then I would rent a place out. Maybe a church? LOL

    Which brings us back to:
If it was a problem with the traffic volume generated, why does the county notice specifically isolate a violation of a permit to religious assembly as the problem?

You'll have to help me out, I use 50 PPP so I'm probably not seeing the same EOP that you are.

I'm also curious how any amount of cars PARKED on a street impeded traffic. In neighborhoods, it's not like the cars are parked in the middle of the street. They are on the side, people passing through don't even need to slow down, so there is no added traffic except maybe when they leave? Safety? Because car accidents never happen when there are less than 5-6 cars? Safety? are you kidding me?

edit: you can hide behind "its not the same thing" but in reality it is. It's not against the law to do it multiple times if you can do it once. Nobody answered the question. Is it against the law to have 15 people at a birthday party?

    Sorry about that:

But you're right, we're arguing on details none of us can confirm. Was it 15 cars? Was 15 people the correct amount or was it lowered for dramatic effect. Maybe it was 15 cars and 30 people?

I'm under the assumption that just like a business can't be run out of a residential unit without a permit from the city, the same goes with a religious assembly. But because of legal wording and the tax-exempt status of the church it is probably outlined differently because of the nature of the two.

This, of course, is the best guess I can come up with. I highly doubt an atheist government organization specifically targeted the rights of the religious majority. How many people in the court system and county zoning staff are christian? I'll wager more than not.

So this "christians unfairly targeted" BS doesn't fly here, sorry.

Just to be clear, I'm really not up in arms about it being christian persecution or whatever BS, I'm more concerned over the larger implications this kind of precedent could have for other things (several of which have already been mentioned here, superbowl etc).

That and work is boring me to tears so I have to keep my brain engaged somehow

No. Birthday party and weekly Jesus juice meetings are also not the same either. Sure a cop might stop by to find out why all those cars are there, but since its not a weekly thing, the Cop probably wouldnt do shit. These prayer groups were a weekly thing, they caused traffic issues and damaged property.

Its all about Keeping the Peace.

Haha, in the end none of us knows shit about the zoning code and why 'religious assembly' was pointed out, but it sure is fun to have a 9 page argument about 15 cars parking. Biggest word problem evar.

Whenever there is any gathering in my neighborhood retards decide to park on both sides of the street. We don't have footage of how or where they parked (around a bend, on both sides of the road, etc) all we know is that this group of cars caused enough impedance to damage someone else's property.

As for the citation including the words religious assembly or whatever, the permit is just for that, not for parking cars on the road. I don't know if SD requires parking permits for the streets, but the assembly permit is a way for the government to address the issue without having to start the bullshit set up to limit parking in certain areas.

And last but not least, what whiny bitches these people are that they are being asked to be considerate of their neighbors.

1 complaint in 5 years is hardly disruptive.
