the neighbors never complained in 5 years. It was a friend of the neighbor's whose car got hit. Idk why everyone is assuming the bible study people "the bad people." There is no information given on the car damage. For all we know, it was an old man that hit it and didn't even realize it. Or someone hit it, the dude got pissed and freaked and called the cops.

But nope, damn those bible thumpers and their private study

yet both are against the law because of the way the law is written. One is not more against the lawer than the other. So therefore, the cops have to enforce both if they want these people to buy a ridiculous permit

I didn't read all that much of the article, but where does it say that there's never been a complaint? Quit making up this "no complaint in 5 years" fact like it's "15 cars every day" fact.

Of course it's all perspective. If it's a neighborhood with 2 car garages and 2 car driveways then no 15 cars isn't shit.

If it's a city block in Boston where people are already parking 2 blocks or more from their house fuck yes it exceeds capacity.

In this case it was an apartment complex, where they make just enough spaces for one car per unit with extra guest spaces and maybe some to sell to 2 car households. Extremely limited parking situation.

Then 15+ cars leaving that area at once? That's rush hour traffic at an abnormal time.
    1) It's NOT 15 Cars. It's 15 PEOPLE. 2) It's NOT an Apartment Complex. It's a private home on a DEAD END street. Stop making up crap.

But you're right, we're arguing on details none of us can confirm. Was it 15 cars? Was 15 people the correct amount or was it lowered for dramatic effect. Maybe it was 15 cars and 30 people?

I'm under the assumption that just like a business can't be run out of a residential unit without a permit from the city, the same goes with a religious assembly. But because of legal wording and the tax-exempt status of the church it is probably outlined differently because of the nature of the two.

This, of course, is the best guess I can come up with. I highly doubt an atheist government organization specifically targeted the rights of the religious majority. How many people in the court system and county zoning staff are christian? I'll wager more than not.

So this "christians unfairly targeted" BS doesn't fly here, sorry.
It was 15 PEOPLE, not cars, according to every available source. And a Bible Study IS NOT A BUSINESS. It is something he is doing with FRIENDS for LEISURE. He's not preaching to them to get paid, they're ALL there to TALK about the damn book *together*. And while you're "guessing", the FACTS show that the original surveyor specifically questioned them on the details of the religious actions they were involved in and the original citation SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED Religious Gatherings as the issue.

I think it was already stated in this thread to stop trolling or infractions will be handed out; it's pretty damn annoying already.

I personally think it was just a few cops that got an ego trip and decided they wanted to piss in these people's cereal. I don't think it has anything to do with religion, although the citation and the questions asked by the officers make a pretty good case for it

From the wording of the citation it does sound like they had a specific problem with the fact it was a religious gathering hence the problem and that's why they are complaining about it.

No official report mentions 15 cars. The person who is complaining about the citation is saying it's only 15 people. I'm sorry that you cite Terrorist Fist Bump News Channel as credible but, you're full of shit if you're going to make this a talking point.

He also specifically said 'Good Friday'. So we're dealing with one day that he may or may not have had 15 people over. Not every other instance. "Victims" tend to embellish the facts to make them look more like a victim and less the perpetrator. Nice try though?

I only make the assumption because the cops would have done something if there had been a complaint before if they did something now; especially in 5 years. I'll quit making that assumption though, so we'll just say "a non-neighbor was the one to make the complaint" and call it a day.

What I'm saying is that County officials are being dicks because County officials CAN be dicks. Yes, they will try and screw people over if they see a way to make money. I've seen it before, in real life, up close and personal. And the fact that they're backpedaling to try and push the focus towards "traffic issues" when they originally cited it as a religious issue just hurts their case.

Tell ya what, they stop saying the "15 cars" crap and I'll drop the "one complaint in 5 years" bit. Since you're right, it's an assumption based on a lack of evidence. However it still leaves the fact that the house in question has a fairly large driveway of it's own, with plenty of curb space, in a low traffic area near a decent sized parking lot. On top of that, the surveyor specifically questioned them on the depths of their religious practices and the initial citation noted "Unlawful use of property" and "religious assembly" as the reasons for being issued. With ALL that information...which is all fact...where can people come up with traffic as being the problem?

It actually has nothing to do with the cops. The County was the one who sent the surveyor and issued the citation. Cops would have just ticketed those responsible.

These people are having thousands of people in their home nightly throwing money at them? Just because some dicks use religion to make money doesn't mean all religious people are filthy, lying, scamming business men.

I had no idea San Diego's channel 10 News worked for fox. Oh wait....

So if it was one particularly populated holiday then that brings back the "Super Bowl" and "Birthday Party" gathering logistics into the discussion. Since Good Friday is a once a year holiday as well.

Yes, you do. Where does 5 years come from?
