if you beat the game you can just go back to previous chapters and replay them, so you might as well just beat it
Once you beat it, and go back to previous chapters, do you play the game from that chapter on, or what?
you can pick, either "Don't Save" which won't save your progress, or "Save" which will affect the game from that point forward as you replay the chapters
Finally getting a chance to sit down and play this atm and...

Wow, just finished. For those that haven't played yet, don't even read this thread at all--it's spoilerific. Someone [Niwar and those that quoted] needs to go back and edit their post.
Game was a fantastic experience from start to end. I think I got the best ending possible too, I want to go back and kill everyone to see what happens.
Can't decide if I want to play this or wait until it's cheaper/rent it. I bought it but haven't unwrapped it. I'm a bit put off hearing that it's only like 7-8 hours long.
I love the bonus stuff that they tossed on this disc. The Mary Smith casting video was really cool.
I played this game in 4-5 sittings. I have been sick, throwing up, etc. I think these 'forced' breaks enhanced my gaming experience. I recommend new players to this game take breaks in between (maybe after completing one of the games intense scenes, use your discretion).
During every break, I was like.. It's gotta be that person who is the Origami Killer. No, wait, that person! And I would think of how it would play out. The better part is.. to an extent, you can control how it will play out.
However, while I am recommending taking breaks in between gameplay, it's still a great experience from beginning to end. No matter how fast you beat it.
I guess the best way to put it is.. some people watched the first season of Lost on TV and tuned in every week with anticipation. They would think about what would happen and get excited about it. After Lost garnered some buzz, other people went out and bought the DVD set. They could watch it at their leisure.. but they ended up plopping in each and every new disc as episodes ran out... The case is the same with Heavy Rain.
Just because it's only 7-8 hours long (I felt it was a little longer) it definitely did not leave me feeling that the story was incomplete or that the story was unsatisfying. It was a great ride.
7-8 hours long, if you want one ending based on the decisions you made. 30~ if you want to see all the endings, and get a platinum trophy. Personally I want to do thetrophy, which requires basically an entire second play through.Spoiler: show
This game is absolutely incredible so far. I'm just a few hours in, and I've been blown away. A bit of biased because I was such a fan of Indigo/Fahrenheit. The motion controls just feel natural to me, and at quite a few points I feel like I don't need to look at them at all. And I believe it was stated earlier, but this is some of the most amazing in-game engine face mapping/rendering I've seen from a game....ever I believe. Not to mention the load screen faces.
Just... A++ so far.
Do we have any idea about how long DLC for this game will be?
I did not mind buying a game knowing very well that I will replay it a lot, however DLC scares me a tad. Will the $5-$10 price tag be worth the play time? Will it be longer then 2hrs? 5? A story driven game such as this can not really live with it being to short. I guess will just have to wait and see unless we have been told already and I missed it.
Just beat it right now, amazing game was amazing.

Game is good, and only gets better during the second go through because of a lot of things
you missed or did differently the first time. Cant wait for DLC.
I would argue that everything up to the pullhoons bit is more prologue/tutorial than game, and thus his point is legitimate
I seemed to killed someone at the end.Spoiler: show
Didn't get the 4 hero trophy.
