I must be the only one but I'm finding this game extremely difficult on normal lol. I'm playing a warrior but I usually just play Morrigan because she seems stronger. It's so freaking hard what am I doing wrong?? I save after every fight because I know if I get into another random battle anytime soon I'm GOING to die.

And BTW I'm like level 6.

Just wondering if anybody know of a place to reliably find Deep mushrooms (preferably a shop that sells them)?

Also is there any trick to getting your tanks to distract large monsters? I have their tactics set to taunt but they never seem to be able to get attention and when they do, despite having heavy armor they drop like stones. My Assassin seems to fair a 1000x better defense wise against bosses despite having almost no armor on what-so-ever.

And finally. Does anyone know of a good trick to making Gold coins? I've been doing quests and selling stuff but maybe there is a trick that I am unaware of.

The difficulty curve is a bit unforgiving (most recent patch helped a bit with that, though). Honestly I played through most of the game on Easy, but eventually moved to Hard around lv17 or so.

Threaten seems to be much more effective than taunt. I have my tactics set up so that Allister goes after my target first, and then will move on to the targets that are attacking morrigan or wynne. He seems to pull everything to him quite easily and can take a beating. My guy on the other hand (rogue) drops like a fly if I get anything big hitting me. Does your tank have have constitution and dex? If not that could be the problem.

wow the fight with the werewolves vs elves is the most unfair bullshit I've ever seen, they just freeze all the wolves so you have to fight an entire forest army by yourself.....if you pick the elves does the same shit happen to the trees and you have to fight all the wolves by yourself??? urgh this game is very difficult lol

No you aren't the only one. I'm up to this werewolf lair and it's keyboard mashing annoying. They like to summon 7 or 8 werewolves at a time and it's like spam heal/rejuv on Alistar while having him spam-drink health potions for good minute or so. It's like a 50% chance he'll make it and the first time this happened I had forgotten to save for 30 minutes or so and I was about to just rage-quit.

Best advice I can give that I had to learn the hard way: save after every goddamn battle.

I hear that. I was having a bitch of a time until recently. I still don't have a healer and I'm level 11. My party consists of A Warrior/Berserker (me) Zevran, Sten & Morrigan. I gave Morrigan a heal spell, which I use pretty often, but I also crafted a ton of Potions. I didn't do that crafting until recently. I died soooooooooo many times in random battles. I have pretty decent mid level gear now, so I die a lot less, and have a better understanding of the combat system. Mainly that Morrigan is the best character in the game, hah.

Lbelle, for that battle I had to reload a few times. I first tried to take on the Elf head on, which I died quickly. So after a little experimenting, I just ran to the back of the room and took on as much as I could. If you do not have Morrigan's Cone of Cold I highly recommend getting that, as it's saved my life countless times. Just try to get your guys out of the way. After 3 reloads, I beat it. It's not so bad.

I second the recommendation on Cone of Cold spell. It's amazing if you bunch enough dudes up and spam it every possible moment.

Does anyone use the last rank Lightning/Frost spells? I can't ever seem to find a right moment where I can use it without causing chaos for my own party as well.

Is there a limit on how many followers you can have? Because currently I'm recruting as many as I can for vesatility.

My group is starting to shape up though, its Main Character (Rogue/Archer), Alistair, Morrigan(love her side comments) and Dog.

I named my dog Sgt. Snuggles. :D

I was reading up on how you were supposed to get the Blood Mage Spec and apparently it was something I missed during the whole Redcliffe battle with the demon. Is there any other way to learn the spec or have I been screwed for the rest of the game?

Odd, I was forced to use Morrigan quite a bit near the start of the game, and she never came remotely close to doing as much damage as my warrior...

My main character does 50% of my party damage lol. I can't imagine that controlling another character and letting your main be controlled by the computer would help your cause much.

I'd like to know this as well. I'm level 11~ and so far all I have is Me (Buffer/Light Healing/Magic Damage Mage), Alistair (tank), Morrigan (Main damage), Wynne (Main healer), along with the useless dog, Sten (I think?), and a rogue/bard who had the visions.

It seems I was given plenty of opportunity to recruit people but they never really joined me so I'm just afraid after so many people you just stop being able to recruit people. D:

There is a limited number of recruitable characters, and you can have them all.

For the tank that Alistair is supposed to be, he sure takes an ass wupping. It's CONSTANT. I mean he would always be the first one to die. I had the best armor available on him at the time. I just stopped using him and instead was using my Warrior/Berserker and Zevran using some 2 handed axe. They're beasts. I can't wait to see them in the Blood Dragon Armor and a bunch of other high str gear I can't use yet.

so for whatever reason, I have all of the pieces of the Juggernaut armor from A Mage's Treasure except the helm, which I'm pretty sure is supposed to come from the Tombstone north of the Great Oak.

When I click on the Tomstone it gives me the option to "Disturb the Tombstone" which I think is supposed to spawn a revenant, but nothing happens. So now I'm stuck with 3/4 of the Juggernaut set and I'm pretty pissed

I have the dog in my party, I don't know why but I really like him. His name is Turtles! So last night I was in that fucking tomb (which, btw, is REALLY a stupid place...back to that in a sec) and he ended up being the last one alive and I just said I LOVE TURTLES. Maybe you had to be there but I lol'd at myself.

The tomb is very strange. Why is it like, HAY FIGHT WEREWOLVES but then it's like BUT GO IN A HUGE CIRCLE THROUGH SKELETONS FIRST?? I was so confused. Anyway, back to the werewolf battle! I actually DO have cone of cold! But...friendly fire is annoying !!!

I'd also like to reiterate that I'm really ENJOYING the game, but it's always easier to talk about the negatives than the positives.
