    ^This

In RPGs I'm to conservative with Elixirs, Megalixers, Turbo Ethers, and MP.

I don't use an entire walkthrough guide. I just use gamefaqs and pick out something like Item Synthesis guide or some shit, like for Star Ocean 2.

CoD4 gave me this habit. Before I would die because I was shooting someone and ran out of ammo and needed to reload (most times = dead), then after a short while I got into the habit of reloading after every kill and taking it a bit slower. This worked out great in CoD4, but for some reason it has become my downfall in other games.

When I was younger, my mom and I would play Super Mario World and Mario Kart with me, but she could only play it with the controller upside down.

I don't see how that's odd. I did the same thing too, because skilling up on enemies caps and only seems to increase at certain points when you progress.

Besides, only one character can equip Blood Sword anyway, so might as well get some variety in there.

Smashing all buttons repeatedly on an arcade cabinet when I get locked into a combo from the opposing team that's impossible to get out of, thinking it'd help.

As others have said, jumping as much as possible in games that allow it.

Saving every single possible elixir / megalixir and refusing to use them, even on the final boss.

Whenever I play a game in a public place (on one of the systems they have set up so you can try a demo of a new game, or whatever) I always make my own sound effects. Never at home, though.

Always trying to time attacks in any RPG, and it never works.

Yeah that's about it that I can think of.

I do a lot of things already mentioned here (jumping, not using elixirs/megalixirs/whathaveyou, trying to time attacks in every RPG) but I also have this wierd fixation with having to buy ever item in stacks of 5. Whenever I'm in a shop and need potions, phoenix downs, ethers or whatever I always buy up to the next multiple of five (I.E If I have 7 potions I'll buy three more to make 10 whether I need them or not). This also affects my play as I never want to use items unless absolutely necessary because I don't want to break up the stacks. I've died countless times in various RPG's because I avoid using an item when I should because of this.

RPGs need to be difficult enough for me to use all of my potions and consumables.

Not me personally, but i know quite a few people that sway left and right while playing a racer, like it's helping them turn or something.

in RPGs I'll *only* use melee oriented characters, or physical attackers if there aren't melee only, mages/spellcasters just never seem to work out (and all my friends take great pleasure in pointing this fact out all the time no matter what type of game i'm playing, as though the only thing i apparently know how to do is be a barbarian with a giant axe and a loin cloth)

i also always name my main character the same name, from a really old game named Rolan's Curse II, i name most of my guys Zold>.>

I always save 2-3 times when I'm at a save point, often in unique slots so I have 3 save files with the same data. No idea where I started this habit.

It was thanks to my own family members that I always started saving in slot #2 or above, since majority of games resort to highlighting slot #1 as the default area to save in upon a new game. -.-

Had to have been back in the SNES days though since I remember doing the same thing, and it was always instant-save on those cartridges. I think I'd rather shoot myself than double/triple-save on some specific PSX titles I played to death....

    I'm guilty of this.

Also in some music games but mainly beatmaniaIIDX If a song doesn't have a continuous stream of notes which keep my hand cramped and busy, when there is a break in the song i'll hit random combos of the 7 keys to a beat.

or if that break or song ends on a turntable scratch i'll scratch the turntable back and forth over and over fast making that beat have an echo. Not sure why i have to keep hitting something when i play.

Same but the only reason I do this is because I sometimes go away from the game, but forget if I've saved or not and save again anyways. Lol

I don't usually save more than once but I sometimes don't trust that I just saved so I'll save again just in case. And then I notice that the game time is the same as the save file, meaning I really did just save, and I feel stupid lol. It happens a lot more when I'm drunk or high, gee go figure.

    ^ haha this.

I also bite my tongue sometimes when I'm in an intense game situation. I don't do this during any other activity

I'm sorta like this, except I do use casters for boss fights. I hate using any sort of consumable during normal fights, always stockpiling them for the possibility of a tough boss fight, so I'll always take stuff down with just basic attacks, not use Potions, and only use healing magic... outside of battle usually.

Which is why I don't like using magic users, I really only use them for bosses.
