    Dynamis - Jeuno: Post-boss Farming

How do you go about it? Normally we pull the statue back to the Maat area and fight our way back out of the palace, but then the gigantic pull right outside the palace sort of puts a damper on that, especially since as the night goes on you usually lose a couple of people here and there. The only way to do it AFAIK is extensive sac pulls. We've also tried pulling the boss to the AH or killing him where he spawns, but both places sorta have the same problem.

Is there an efficient way to farm post-boss without sac pulling over and over?

Most of the post-MB pulls kinda suck regardless, it's just a choice of which suck you want. The LSs I've been in generally pulled the MB to either the AH, the MH or fought it where it spawns. If you can handle the big pulls, you can still farm quite a bit - the most I've personally seen is 1 mob from full clear, but I'm quite sure a full clear is possible.

There is one simple trick to anything prior to CoP that's truly hard: lots and lots of Black Mages.

Seriously though, the best advice for surviving crazy parts of Dynamis tends to almost always be "more blm's."

The biggest problem I've noticed after Jeuno boss isn't so much the pulls (they really aren't that bad working out from MH), it's the god damn lag. Like, game breaking lag. People become entirely untargetable for cure/raise. Mobs that rape people without popping on anyone's screen. Weird shit like that is what makes farming after the boss a pain in the ass.

my shell kills at the AH, and does a timed -aga on the 4 stats at the top of the steps, and go from there. we typically will 2x clear with no issues

My shell has tried several experiments, from the AH, to the upper jeuno zone line, to the castle as base camps. The latest experiment was getting everyone into the mog house elevators. Unfortunately it turned out a mass wipe because not everyone crowded into the elevators and the boss was killed where repops spawn.

but, the MH camp does have good potential if everyone listens and gets away from that intersection of sidewalks where repops pop when boss dies.

"lots and lots of Black Mages". Actually, this isn't inaccurate. Though for us it's been 'the more blms who can sleepga the better our chances of survival post-boss'. For some reason post-boss the Jeuno mobs become extremely resistant to sleeping from blm sleep. All cities' mobs become much tougher after MB dies, but Jeuno seems to be more pronounced in this than the three kingdoms.

I think it's the lag Viq mentioned, sleepgas randomly miss shit, or get resisted, and people are dying before they ever see the mobs.

More important question: Who would want to farm after the boss in Dyna -Jueno. Let alone actually deciding to do that zone.

same thing here , what u need todo is timed ga then wait for mobs to come inside AH area, afterwards u clear all the way to the stairs that leads to MH. it gets tricky there for another timed GA, where you need to time it right so it hits the 3 stones at same time.

afterward head back to AH and clear the way to upper jeuno entrance. and then palace, if there is more time, we sac the area in middle where people would be in palace and one person would be running around the square till he dies. and repeat.

That's what we do, the next pull is still big but normally manageable.

The biggest problem with post-boss farming is people losing interest. We tend to pretty much clear the zone before taking the boss on (all the top level and a few pulls from down stairs). So by this point we have had a few DCs and people are tired.

Pulls that would have been no problem at the beginning start getting scrappy.

We've taken all three approaches to the zone over the years, and by far the best approach post-boss in Dynamis-Jeuno for us is to set up camp at the zoneline leading to Upper Jeuno. From this area you are able to clear in either direction with much more manageable pulls and less linking than from the Auction House.

However, it does require clearing the cluster of statues in front of area where the Goblin Golem spawns. It's a lot easier to do this before the boss than afterward, since the Vanguard won't have had the opportunity to buff up en masse.

Interest is directly proportional to the amount of effort a person is required to put in to the job they're doing.

Maybe interest is the wrong word, but focus or concentration (or whatever you want to call it) will start to dwindle after 3+ hours of doing the same 'job'.

And it only takes 1-2 mistakes by 1-2 people to turn a big pull into a big wipe.

A DD missing their assist and waking a WHM who just happens to 2hr @ 99%HP waking the whole pull.

An avatar waking due to a partial resist just as the smn popped his 2hr and the sleepers are looking the other way.

All mistakes caused by a lack of concentration, that wouldn't happen in the first half of the run.

I understand that people get bored, but the way to cut out the errors is to prevent people from getting bored in the first place. The things you described are all errors that could happen at any time during the run, which obviously have a higher chance of happening towards the end when people get tired, lose their focus, etc.

However, there are ways to push that threshold further into a run, keeping people engaged for longer periods of time without diminishing your overall productivity:

    1) Try to change up the jobs that people use in Dynamis. Someone who is bored from the very start will be even bored later on.

    2) If you have the numbers, break your members up into self-sufficient alliances to clear their own parts of the zone. People who realize that they are playing a significantly more important role (and can't rely on five other people to do their job) will pay more attention to what they're supposed to be doing and not the clock.

    3) Force people to take a break (~5 minutes). As long as you do this before a point where you really need the momentum, having people get up and use the restroom/get a snack/stretch lowers the amount of staggered AFKing you have towards the end of the run and gives people a chance to refresh themselves.

    4) Get people involved. If you have the same people doing the targeting and pulling every run, get other people in those roles. Put people to work so they know they're contributing and aren't bored.

We have our best results as a linkshell when I can demonstrate that we can both finish quickly (and get out early) and completely when people focus on making the run successful early and continuously.
