Ok just finished watching the Sony Press Conference (got home from work) and I would definitely say that:

Sony: 10/10
Microsoft: 7/10
EA: 5/10 (ME2 is the only reason I'd give this anything, cause it's my most anticipated game)
Nintendo: 4/10
Ubisoft: Neverallowthemtohaveapressconferenceagain/10

Other than that, everyone rating these are just fanboys trying to justify why their console is better than the other people. Who cares? You bought the console you wanted to play the most. They bought the one that they really wanted to play. Having an PS3/Xbox/Wii (Select the one(s) you do own) does not make you better than those who have a PS3/Xbox/Wii (Select the one(s) you don't own.)

I enjoy my Xbox. I also have enjoyed games on my brother's PS3. I have even enjoyed games on my friends Nintendo Wii.

What's really required is a thread per streamed presentation, to make the flow of the conversation easier to follow. Right now it's 10 pages of 'WHOAUGH WTF LOOK AT THAT GAME' punctuated with some very fragmented topics floating amongst the 30+ games that got press at the day's events.

Plus it would help if folks dug up the threads from the relevant games that we've already known about, like the new Team Ico game, and posted the fresh info there rather than splatter it into one monolithic thread.

Decided to read this entire thread from page 1 since Sunday (I had work during the convention), and I had to sift through so much shit to figure out what was coming up. In 75 pages I was able to pick out the top 10 things announced per presentation with the rest being filler or multi-posts.

At least tomorrow I have the day off, but of course there's no live feed so once again I'll be relying on blogs or BG...so same shit.

Sorry but ever since E3 started it has always been a competition to shell out all your best games/ideas in order to dominate the competition. That is just how it is, the reward they win is all the money not being spent on the other console(s).

Also where did they say they were not gonna stream at g4tv? I see this listed right where the other press conferences that were streamed were.

I choose to disagree with you here.

For a while, as mentioned above, it's been a competition even if no one acknowledged it. Just because there's not an 'award' or anything, it doesn't take away the fact that it's a competition. When people game with their friends, they compete against each other, but it's not a competition because there is no award?

There are winners if people decide to say they are winners. Sure winners may be different based on who you talk to, but who cares? If you don't like it, don't pay attention to it.

And people giving ratings aren't about fanboyisms ALL the time. I for one rated Sony > Microsoft > EA > Nintendo > Ubisoft and I'm like Nintendo more than Microsoft, though Microsoft isn't too bad. I also own a PS3. The fact is did Microsoft make me go "HOLY SHIT DID NOT SEE THAT COMING" this year like last year with FFXIII? No. They did not. It was more Gears of War and more Halo. Did Sony do that to me this year? Yes. Yes they did. I did not expect the new MMO to be FFXIV, and they basically pulled out most games I was hoping they would (Uncharted 2, though info has already been out) and GoW3.

I appreciate your opinion on things, but not everyone has to think that way. If we wanna rate, then we'll rate. Unless rating suddenly becomes banned on BG, don't expect people to stop because someone complains.

I never said anything about G4TV not steaming it. Unless I missed a comment earlier about someone who did say that.

Though I have just found fanboys and all their comments to be extremely annoying. Never quite understood it. It always just seemed so silly to try and say that your system is better than their system. To me, there is no better system. All three are good in their own rights. The only problems with the systems are developers who are not utilizing each console properly or forcing a certain style of game on to one system. There are far too many FPS games on the Xbox due to Halo's success for example.

Personally, I never viewed any E3 to be any type of competition between the companies, but more of a platform for them to speak and compare ideas to make better games (mostly behind doors and such). Of course good ideas will be ripped off though.

Microsoft dominated last E3 with suprise FF13 announcement and Netflix etc. Sony dominated this years with the shit they pulled out. Fanboyism aside, it was pretty clear. Gaming Expo's will just be a pissing contest between Microsoft and Sony still for a few years to come, Nintendo will always lack behind them (until the next gen, at least), as the wii has pushed aside its hardcore fan base for the casuals. I don't see Nintendo changing that as they're earning a fuck ton of cash from it, and just seem to have lost the plot, although Metroid and Mario Galaxy 2 announcements were awesome. Of course this is an opinion and maybe the casual gamers and tweenie boppers actually liked the rest of the Nintendo presser(?)
