Suprisingly ugly design coming from sony. Totally in agreement with others here, no 2nd analog stick is a major, major flaw. I can't believe they haven't learned from their earlier mistakes. Alot more PSP games would have been decent with one.

I don't get the whole dual-analog fetish with the PSP.
With only two shoulder buttons, game controls are going to feel very limited, or very contrived when you have to start juggling your right thumb for the right-stick/face-buttons, which makes more of a hassle than it's worth imo.
I don't even think I'd be able to hold my PSP securely if I had to deal with two analog 'nubs' also.
"Contrived" is how I'd describe the control schemes developers have to come up with to deal with a single analog stick, like in Me & My Katamari.
If you seriously can't cope with two analog sticks my only question is how many decades it's been since you last picked up a console controller.
Everytime a dual-analog scheme is involved, it involved 2 sets of shoulder buttons with as little as face-button contact as possible.
Console controllers are weighted properly and are ergonomic, handhelds are typically heavier, not comfortably shaped (well, with the exception of the Gameboy Advance since it was contoured nicely and had concave shoulder buttons), and typically have nothing to wrap your hands around on the backside since they're almost always a flat surface.
(although that may not be the case with the Go! since I've yet to see a screengrab of its backside)
And I don't know about you, but the analog nub was extremely uncomfortable/imprecise to use on the PSP (and from the screenshots it looks just as small), but perhaps my hands are just larger than the average person. Can't really accomodate for everyone.
whine whine whine
What kind of furfag game doesn't use face buttons? I haven't played a console game in recent memory that didn't use the d-pad and face buttons just as much as the analog sticks.
Fakeass one looks better.
I see no reason to buy this as long as I currently own a PSP. I see even less of a reason once my PSP breaks and I need something to play the UMD games I do own. What market exactly is Sony targetting with this new hyperexpensive hardware?
did they release pricing info yet? I can't imagine this will be more than 200...
but I agree, there seems to be little reason to buy this unless you don't already own a psp, even the DSi has promised exclusive/enhanced games eventually.
considering like... every medium to high end cell phone on the market has a touchscreen of some sort now, I'm actually pretty surprised this doesn't have one. It could potentially make up for the lack of a 2nd analog, obvious DS comparison connotations aside.

Awesome.
haha epic.
Greatness at its best.
$250 !?
Ahahahahaha
Sony: "We'll never charge a reasonable price, what recession?"
A new PSP and a 16gb memory stick is going to set you back at the same price. I still think it's an alright deal.
Only if you've never owned a PSP before. Those who have already invested will have zero incentive to buy the Go unless they announce a UMD copying service to work on the new device.
Maybe once homebrew/CFW show up on the Go the scales will tip in its favor. Maybe.
I was really sceptical about the pspGo it looked uncomfortable to me but when I held it and played GrandTurismo on it I did not think it was too bad. It was comfortable thin, not too heavy and the screen was really nice.
I asked the guy there about the umd issue and he said they are working on a solution for that issue and are very aware that it needs to be solved. He said there is a good chance there will be a transfer service of some sort or a good way to get your umd games onto the GO!
Didn't microsoft have a good will program for scratched disks? I know it is pretty much apples and oranges, and nothing really has been said about this UMD Conversion but... i almost wonder if it will be limited to 1st party games, or have a very limited library.
Seems like a monumental thing to try and set up... with the number of PSP games out there.
I never got into the psp at all. I just don't like handhelds enough to spend 200 bucks.
