Roommate bought this game earlier today, I didn't play the first for more than an hour but spent a lot of time on this tonight. The only issue I'm having so far is we seem to get turned around pretty often and not know where to go next, some levels have arrows but like in the swamp everything just began to look the same. Then again we were pretty high so I'm hoping that was the reason, because other than that it was really fun and I can see myself getting pretty hooked to this game lol. Also I agree that normal difficulty is much more challenging than in most games, especially when there is levels with multiple witches in close vicinity, those things fuck things up fast.

It is harder. Playing with idiots does not help. I have sworn off playing with people I don't know till all the hype dies down. Also you did have to be alive to get achievements in the first game.

I guess I'm remember my campaign clear achievements wrong then, so I apologize. I do know however that our expert clears were NOT with all of us alive with the exception of one of them and all of us popped the 4/4 achievement at the same time.

So we figured out that apparently if you don't survive the finale then you don't get the achievement for clearing that scenario. Anyone confirm this means all 4 people have to make it on the rescue vehicle in expert + expert/realism for it to count towards your clear? If so this is going to be a fucking headache.

Guardian Gnome was one of the funniest/most annoying fucking achievements ever as well.

If you are incapacitated at the finale and did not start from the beginning of the campaign, you will get nothing. I know this because I have been getting constant power surges. they' are fucking annoying, and it is pissing me off when I come back. Rochelle is a dumb bitch who somehow makes it so I come back to my game with 30 HP in black and white view and totally ruined my melee-only run.

I have to play around with the PC version some more, but after playing the 360 version, is it just me or does the AI for the other 3 characters feel scaled back in this one? I'm starting to run out of fingers in counting how many times I've died to shit pathing and retardedness.

Finally beat the first campaign through. It was easier with two players and two bots than four players. No retardation.

Gotten just over half the achievements... I've gotten screwed out of the spitter one several times (where you assist a smoker). I spat on them while the smoker held 'em, but got nothing >

Somehow managed to get all the Jockey ones by blind luck. I swear to God the hit detection code on the Charger is AWFUL. I keep missing people miraculously by a hair.



Achievements that are proving to be a real bitch so far;

- Scavenge Hunt (this one is just pure bullshit. You either have to get paired against a bunch of retards who have no clue what they're doing, or the other team has to simple throw the match. Very stupid achievement IMO)

- Sob Story (Virtually impossible to do with the AI, don't even bother you NEED friends for this)

- Strength In Numbers (Why did they even do this? It's so freaking hard to build a team, and it never finds any team games either)

- Tank Burger (again, need friends for this and have to set it on easy mode)

- Wing And a Prayer (I assume they mean that horde section in the swam at the crashed plane... even on easy mode this is a pain)

- The Real Deal (This one is just pure bullshit anyway you slice it.)

I did tank burger on normal mode on hard rain. Shit was easy, he goes down so fast.

The Mall is the only place we've Scavenged at, but it's very easy to get people to not get any gas cans in there if you focus on the car. We missed by one because someone got one in at Overtime. <_<

No these weren't shitty players either, they in fact had a lot more skill than we did at Scavenge, but we just focused on taking them out at the car and taking out their gas cans if/when they tossed them down.

And yeah, Strength in Numbers and Tank Burger are just stupid easy to get. I don't understand how you did the 4min in survival mode with only melee weapons without getting Tank Burger.

Stupid question, but what's the differences between Online Dedicated and Local Host when choosing servers? We've had really bad lag spikes and stutter effects on Online Dedicated, but none at all on Local Host but what's the differences?

Local host finds a server close to the lobby leader I think. Official dedicated are valve servers.

Got I hate getting stuck with people in Scavenge who have no idea how to juggle two gas cans, or don't throw gas cans down from a higher level.

I've played with some pretty stupid people in Salvage...

As an example, we already had around 5-7 gas cans lying around the Car in the mall, but did anyone try to put some in? No, just me. They kept going for more rather than putting in what we had. As a result, the other team took advantage of my team mate's stupidity and had their spitter ignite most of the cans. It's amazing how many people are unaware that the Spitter can do that.


I don't know why I can't get tank burger. I've even got right up to it on easy mode with the chainsaw from behind the damn thing and taken him down, but somehow the fucking AI always manages to get the last hit in with a gun.

For strength in numbers though, how do you get it? I mean I've been in a VS and Scavenge Lobby where we had 4 on each side and then won the game... but nothing. Nobody quit either. The game still isn't tracking my use of the Defibrillator either.

X.x I don't think I'll ever get "The Real Deal" but I'm thinking the best level for it is the swamp. Dead Center at least is just way too hard due to the absurd length of "The Streets" part (the Mall is pretty crazy too...)

The game is fucked registering tallies for achievements and popping some achievements all together. My boss didn't the 4min melee survival mode despite him 100% getting it. There's no if, ands or buts. My boss and another friend of mine used 6/8 of melee weapons the first night and when we went to campaign the next day had 0/8.
