Yup, both on PC and 360, and have 1000/1000 gamerscore on 360 version. Played it to death and love it.

It is an expansion and all expansions are sequels. Looking at the features it seems to have just about the same, if not little less, content as the original game.

5 campaigns vs 4, new weapons, some feature upgrades.

More than doubling the amount of campaigns is pretty major

I have to be honest. It's a little disconcerting that Valve is already doing a sequel. Given the support they have given TF over the years it's almost shocking that they wouldn't do the same with L4D. Was this the intention all along? Whet our appetites with this one and then release the sequel? I know I'm probably overreacting, but I'm starting to feel like I got jipped here. I love L4D. But I'm not loving this announcement.

Agreed. Everything he's talking about could have been done as it stands now. I'm really having a hard time seeing this as anything other than Valve striking while the metal is hot and trying to take a little bit more loot away from me when I just spent money on one of their games.

I find it extremely disconcerting that Valve (Turtle Rock) would drop the TF2 model for the EA model. Why would anybody trust the "Entertainment as a service" model when Valve (Turtle Rock) can't even do it themselves. It is a giant step backwards in every way.

Notice how there are no sequels to each game on the same engine? This is how they've worked for awhile now. L4D2 is just a gigantic stain on their games library, even if it was released for free (as a new game). What they should have done is obvious.

Now the problem they face is what to do with L4D? They can't properly support it no matter what any of you say. They can't drop support for it completely to work on L4D2 because then they would be liars (already are to a large majority). If they discontinued L4D and upgraded all L4D owners to L4D2 then why not call it L4D? There's no way they can get out of this without hurting their reputation and fan base. We'll probably just get half-assed support in L4D2 and almost non-existent support in L4D. Bad decision is bad.

Anyone saying they couldn't release this as DLC is ignorant though. The point of the Steam platform is situations like this.

Now if only Steam would allow me to sell L4D. I no longer have any interest in playing it, barely had any to start with. Only held that interest with the promise of new characters/campaigns/weapons of which will only come from the community now thanks to L4D2.

I'm a bit disappointed that this is going to be full price, to be honest. Not because it's pretty much more of the same, but because it's more of the same just one year later. I mean, I just bought your game Valve, and I love it. Let me love it longer before you make very minor changes for a sequel. I understand why they're doing it, but milking it this soon is just dumb in my opinion (as a consumer, not from their perspective).

Oh well, I'll still buy it, but probably won't be as soon as I bought the first in relation to when it comes out.
