:[ indeed. Gotta go to a memorial dinner now.. I hate these types of things more than the actual death. It's really depressing. The people around me are more depressing than him actually dying. I've had a year to come to terms with him dying. What I didn't expect is my family taking it this hard.

Also, in a strange bit of irony, he died on my grandpa (his brothers) birthday who also died. I was not there but I had heard that he was yelling out my grandpas name a few nights ago and ended up crying, which hit me pretty hard.

i'm never going to have memorial dinners or shit like that for my family if i can avoid it, i'm going to have a huge fucking barbeque in their honor and just get shitfaced with the family and talk about the good i had with them, that way there's no sadness

My uncle was a really respected guy in the community so its more of a formality really. Everyone he knew and worked (and obviously family members.) with is coming so its gotta be kind of a formal thing... He was really involved with the city too so I'm not sure all who is going to show up.

That doesn't distract from the fact I hate these types of things. it doesn't help I'm pretty much socially retarded in these situations. I honestly can't be sad for long, I don't know why but I tend to not get very depressed. Its hard to relate to them. Expessially when someone dies. Sure, I cry like a bitch for awhile but then you gotta remember the fun times you had and that everyone, including yourself, will die. The bad thing though is he went through a lot in his last days. It's not like a quick thing. He fought it for a very very long time and obviously lost in a bad way.
