not gonna get it if:
- there are mixed servers with JPs/NA having a head start of 1 or 2 years+
- if its PS3 exclusiv, I can not imagine playing that on TV, need a PC port, i wont buy a PS3 just for that game
- if it has the same stupid HNM failsystem ¬.¬
- if SE didnt learn of their mistakes (kind of goes with the statement above)
- if Armor design is the same ugly shit as in FFXI lol (seriously get better armor designers, just look at some (most) armor sets, they look ugh)
- Region specific Servers YES PLEASE! god nothing is more frustrateing then being on an EU empty server (like most server in FFXI). and nothing is more frustrateing to not beeing able to join JP events, because you cant talk/write Japaneese!!!!!!

Agreed. I think that initial sense of exploration across unfamiliar landscapes is probably the highpoint of a game for me.

There were plenty of aspects of FFXI that I genuinely loved and thought were fantastically done: the missions, the story, the lore and the job system, to name a few.

If all of those elements are going to be repackaged into a significantly prettier package, telling a new story, I would definitely be interested, at least for a while.

I just sincerely hope that Square addresses what I believe to be the shortfalls of FFXI too: repetitive and frequently time consuming/unrewarding endgame, issues with itemization, and the near complete lack of communication between players and customer service. I don't need to go into detail, but needless to say that if you agree with me, you understand the frustration, and if you don't, I envy you.

Fingers crossed, because I'd certainly like to fall under Final Fantasy's spell again.

I thought that was rather obvious personally. There was more Rapture news, plus talk of POL Viewer not being involved, etc.

I didn't see any tails on the Galka either, and tbh they looked like a "big beastly" race, but a bit more like some sort of overgrown Hume type race imo >:0

Top of logo is clearly inspired by FFXI's. Blue, weapons in the air.

Seems like it takes place in "Eorzea." So probably not FFXI sequel.

The game reminds me of The Last Remnant in design(well without the very different themes, like floating wierd airship thing.)

EDIT: And those guys really can't look anything more like a Galka. All that is missing is the tail.

EDIT: Within the logo I might be able to see new races. I think I see a Mithra with a bow though.

Having quit FF11 about half a century ago, I'm totally up for FF14. IM READY. I foresee a problem, however, with fighting with my boyfriend over the ps3. I might have to buy my own and take my tv out of storage arghh

I agree...I don't think people get how cool it is to totally communicate with people from japan...to me at least.

This time around there is no head start, so NA = JP skill essentially which was the biggest problem outside of some stuck-up JPs.

Did you fucking forget that FFXI was only on PS2 when it launched? Not to mention that the Sony guys did NOT SAY THAT THIS WAS PS3 EXCLUSIVE.

They only showed it on PS3 because it was a Sony presser and theyr'e not going to talk about another format.
