Even if youre being sarcastic, this is far from true.

People have to realise that this game came out over SEVEN years ago. I know that there are not many original players left, but FFXI was revolutionary in so many ways. People who started playing a couple years ago dont have this sense of feeling as WoW was the 'king'.

Many many things made and make FFXI a great MMO, one being the ability to change to a variety of different jobs, and not being forced to stay in one job forever. That in itself was a huge attraction.

I'm not sure, however much I love XI, whether I want to get sucked in to another MMORPG. I'll admit I'm addicted and part of me is jumping for joy about this but another part of me is wondering whether I really want to commit 5-10 years to another game.

Language specific servers might be good, region specific servers would kinda ruin things. Part of me as an EU player would want EU specific servers but I love the international flavour to XI, I've met a lot of NA friends through it/

If I hopped, I wouldn't want it to have anything much to do with XI. I'd rather it was a completely new thing.

Dunno, see where my life is then - considering retraining and so I might have to go back to uni for another year or two. In which case a commitment to something like this would be too much.

What I was thinking at first till I noticed the round hilt. Only looks like a rapier because of the way it's drawn, but could go either way.

As for a Windows version of the game, it'll most assuredly be specific for Vista/Windows 7. I don't see them getting away with those sorts of graphics without DX10 support.

I think a lot of people seem to forget that FFXI is older than WoW. I remember people talking about how they were going to move to WoW when it came out.
