one thing SE needs to implement is a proper, working token system. that's what beats drop rates and gives proper rewards to everyone.
WoW is perfect with that, you have your %drops from bosses AND tokens you collect that grant you additional loots. so, even in the worst luck scenery possibile, you are still rewarded for all the time you put farming content.
Why would you play a new MMO..using your old character? Why not just...stick with FFXI then if you don't want to leave your character behind?
FFXIV Maat's Cap from FFXI:
Level 1 - STR+1~7 DEX+1~7, etc.
Gimmie!
Character transfer would be cool only if the new game didn't have levels.
Can I keep my bonecrafting specs? Those things haven't left my inventory since the day I got em. ; ;
That's going to be the worst part about moving over for me too. I'll probably just play both for a while, one on my PC and the other on my PS3.
SE has done this with Assaults and to a point Einhajar(no I can't spell it and no I don't care to look it up). With the way SE keeps adding new point systems into FFXI I can easily see them adding lost of token systems to FFXIV.
whats your point in transfering characters over? I mean if loosing your char is not the point, then why wouldnt you just start over?
I have put 5 years work in my char, and I dont mind seeing a fresh start, with new people, a new community, and new ways of adventureing. Porting my char over just screams for me that nothing will change.
Only point I see to importing characters is people afraid of being newbies in a new world. It may be similar to FFXI just race wise (that we know of), but if you don't want to lose your work in FFXI, just play FFXI. Why is that such a hard concept to grasp?
only reason i'd like to "transfer" is so you don't have to re-name your char and you get the same look as before (unless you hate the way your char looks, just hope your fast at getting your name)
Einherjar is a good, working example tho it doesnt grant you any Abjuration piece.Yeah, Limbus and Einherjar don't exist.
Way too much "grass is greener on the other side of the road" in this thread.
Limbus is a little short on gear selection but it still does the job.
What I meant was that such systems should be part of the whole endgame : they were introduced later (Assault could count, too) and worked charms, so I am hoping they'll be there from day1 in FF XIV.
There will be limerick-off and you will lose.
Soneldar quit preaching! You only got those elemental staves within the like last 2 years! I'm pretty sure Salvage was out before!
Nah, you got a Hauby +1, you're fine.
