Sony doesn't know how to communicate between departments, they're a disorganized mess, don't blame us!
It's all a ruse to up the hype when they announce it at E3.
I'm waiting on Not-Kaz's tweet to end up being real as a joke unto itself.

EDIT: Scrubbed due to policy - also, Butts is a moron
It is interesting to see how much pushback IGN is getting on this from Sony, other media outlets, and fans themselves. I can't remember something like this happening in recent memory.
Clearly this has offended *someone* with some clout, going to be interesting to see how this plays over the next week.
The whole thing is surreal, like when GWB announced Iraq's nuclear weapons program, except instead of "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." we get "The Russian IGN site has learned that Sony Computer Entertainment Japan recently fired Fumito Ueda and canceled The Last Guardian."
Click bait, nothing more. So easy to push the buttons of folks when this is such an anticipated title.
It's nothing new for an article to be taken down, pulled, or proven to be false, but there was a lot of clout surrounding this and it's pretty clear IGN got in some real trouble for publishing the article. I don't think I recall another incident where a publicist in the video game industry came out and made a public apology
VG247 has a souce claiming that it won't be at E3, again.

The Last Guardian. It was announced for PlayStation 3 in 2009, once had a holiday 2011 release set, and hasn’t been heard from since. It’s not cancelled and is right now in full development. So what’s the latest update, Sony?
“It’s the same message!” Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida told Eurogamer with a smile.
“Lots of people tweeted me they were heartbroken by that [false cancellation] news [prior to the show],” he said. “People are going through this roller coaster of emotions, and it’s our fault for not releasing the game, yet. We owe a lot to those people, but we really don’t want to release piecemeal information until we can say this is The Last Guardian – so we ask you to wait.”
Hopefully the wait won’t be too much longer.
how many years has this been in development? 7? wtf this game even if it does turn out to be epic can not live up to the hype it will have when it does drop.
well maybe will see it by 2020
Doesn't really matter if the game is canceled or not if it's in development for so long they have to eventually scrap it because everyone's moved on to a platform they're not developing for. Wasted breath on that apology imo. Game's as good as canceled already.
