I picked this up last night. Rather I dl'd it from Gamestops digital store. While I like it and it's been a good long while since I've played any Sims game, something very strange happened while playing. At one point the game froze and my computer black screened. I had to do a hard shutdown holding the power down. After that, it wouldn't start, and the power supply seemingly died, as the fan wouldn't even go on. After a few minutes on hold with Dell, for the hell of it I decided to turn it on again. Lo and behold it went on. I doubt it really has anything to do with the game and more with the shitty power supply from China, but still very strange.

Holy crap. So a robber appeared in my yard, and my next door neighbor n' some random dude visiting her house came over and beat the crap out of him...she then kissed the random dude and started playing guitar in my yard....

There's a lot of little bugs in this.. One of my Sims has been disgusted for '10m' for half of his life. Also, I keep seeing that a Sim thinks an area is filthy, but everything is clean.. Just to check if there was something with the room, I removed everything and put brand new/most expensive materials to get rid of the status effect-- but it was still there.

Like Ksandra said, I wish more was added to Sims doing their jobs.. makes most of the areas you can visit pointless... And collecting police reports sucks ASS.

It's fun to work now as well! Working in the political career you can now host fund raisers to get some cash in for your cause, and damn, some of the sims are rich. If you invite a journalist they'll be there to write an article about the event and you'll be able to read about it in the newspaper the next day!

You can also write books as a professional author, buy them at the book store and then host book circles. People with the bookworm trait will recognize you and then cheer on you as you walk around in the city.

Also, reading the newspaper now tells you if families are moving out of the neighbourhood, and they'll really leave.

Anyone else love the Daredevil trait?

I played the leaked version a few weeks ago and I have to say that I was unimpressed to say the least. It felt like there wasn't much of an upgrade from Sims 2. I think it has a good foundation, but I would much rather play Sims 2 with all the extras. After a few expansion packs I can see this game becoming worth a play, but until then I won't be spending time on this game.

While I like the game thus far, the fact that they are charging for items already and the amount of content up has me questioning the game/series already. It's effing ridiculous. I know the whole thing with DLC if you don't want it, don't buy it... but this is shit that definitely should have been in the game.

That's my point exactly. I don't mind download content or expansions, but I kinda feel like were gonna need 27 expansions before this game becomes decent.

I bought this game for my daughter a couple of days ago. We had lots of fun and ended up spending a full 2 hours just making a sim that looked exactly like her. That was the good part.

As for the bad part, I just shelled out $50+ for the game and she is already wanting to buy outfits, hair cuts etc. from the online store. >.<

I've been thinking about getting this, but right now I don't have the time or money to pick it up. I've heard that they added a ton of stuff and changed the gameplay quite a bit, but other than that, nothing too much.

As far as online, I remember EA trying the Sims Online and it was a massive failure and it died very fast. I can see why they'd be pensive to give that a go again.

Can go to Best Buy's digital game store if you didn't have time to go to the store...

I can imagine it won't be long before people have their own hosted stuff that you can dl for free.

Ya the hair thing kinda upset me cause there's not as many as sims2, but again remember this is the core game, even in sims2 you got more hairstyles with every exp, so it really isn't that much different.

The only thing I bought was the white shirt with the black tie...only because I've actually worn that.

The custom content keeps coming in though...I want to see what kind of mods will come out (custom hair etc..)

Mostly for downloads and such.
