because yeah basically everyone is gonna want to be able to fight well, and that pretty much means being a jedi/sith or a boba-fett wannabe. jedis are just too overpowering in the star wars universe unless you introduce massive ship-to-ship battles and/or large scale army battles.

if you could be a Wedge kind of guy- completely mediocre on-foot combat skills, but then you can get in a fighter and fight like a boss, that could be cool. especially if there was a lot of vehicle oriented content.
