I have a friend with an Emachine (lol) W3615 PC running Windows Vista Home Premium currently.
eMachines Support: Product Support and Downloads
We've upgraded every single part on his PC (Power supply, case, memory, videocard). And the only thing he needs next is a new CPU/motherboard to completely move away from his emachine motherboard. But hes unable to purchase those parts now so it will be awhile from now.
He wants to go to XP. But on the Emachine website, the drivers say (Vista) only. I've heard sometimes even though drivers say "Vista only", they can sometimes work on XP also.
Since this PC was made by the company around the time Vista/XP was still being warmed into the market. I'm wondering if the "Vista" chipset driver will work on XP for him?
Any ideas? Also is there a way to download the correct chipset driver for him from the Intel website or something? I've downgraded my fiance PC (It used to be Vista and wen't to XP flawlessly with chipset drivers from the Intel website following a guide someone made online).
Thanks
