Star Ocean 4, play with subtitles and the mute button on, just throw some music on.
It's really fun, the story is so-so and the voice acting is horrible, but it's really fun.
Oblivion is pretty fun, I'm getting into it. It's a bit more different from other games in that (as mentioned) it's extremely open, there's really no set way you can play the game and it's unlikely you'd even be able to reproduce the same game file twice things are so different. I also just got Sacred 2 and haven't really cracked into that enough yet, I'm going to play it with the roommate some (I hear it's great multiplayer, and pretty bad solo).
edit: if you've played Fable II, Oblivion is somewhat similar but a lot less linear, and you don't get quite the same amount of changes being made to everything based on your actions, or at least not to the scale that Fable II does it.
