    [Unicorn]NightMoogles - PST Event LS

    http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...pobanner-1.png

    Website:
Night Moogles LS - Kupo! - FireFox required to view correctly.

    Background:
The core members all originated from Pxtzle LS, which had over a 5 year long run but sadly ended due to the leader losing interest in the game. The years of experience we gained in that LS brought us to where we are today. Towards the end of Pxtzle's life, the members of the shell were forced to do most events in FFXI without a huge roster. As a result, we learned to do things with 12 people that we normally used to take 24+. To continue this aspect, NightMoogles was formed with lowman events in mind.

    Linkshell Events:
We have a simple concept, there's 1 official event per day. The start time is 6:30pm (PST) and I encourage all members to have near perfect attendance for these. This isn't a shell for casual players that only show up sometimes, I highly stress that everyone makes these events or you simply won't be in the LS long.

And to make it very clear, we do not camp the ground kings. We've spent our time in the Aery in years past, and no longer wish to waste our hours camping things we may or may not get claim on.

    Our schedule (6:30pm pst):
    Sunday - Salvage
    Monday - Dynamis
    Tuesday - Limbus
    Wednesday - Salvage
    Thursday - Dynamis
    Friday - Salvage
    Saturday - Limbus

    Dynamis:
This isn't a place where you'll find 30 people in Dynamis. As I mentioned earlier, we keep things small and all runs will have less than 1 alliance. As of lately, we've been sticking to cities/glacier runs but my overall goal is for the LS is to do Tav - alot. There's a few new members who need CoP dynamis clears, and I've delayed those until the roster is capped out.

We've done Dynamis with as few as 8 people, and recently we've started mana burning cities and have been able to grab all time extensions with as few as 12. This is only possible because there's alot of emphasis put forth on each member to pull their weight. Having less people means there's less room for mistakes, and so far I've been pleased with how we've done.

As for Dynamis loot, each member is allowed to pick whether they want to go for AF or coins at the start of each run. I was tired of seeing all the coins go to 1 member who was upgrading a relic, in fact many members of this shell spent the last 5 years watching all the coins go towards relic upgrades. I've changed this, and instead all single coins are split at the end of each run and divided to members who opted to go for coins instead of AF. The 100 pieces are banked to pay for the run and to pay the LS paycheck.

    Limbus:
Limbus is run by a point system. It's the most basic system you'll find, as in you get 1 point for showing up and attending the run. We always do dual limbus runs on the scheduled day - instead of taking 12 people on 1 run, I'll split the group into groups of 2 to get more accomplished.

    Salvage:
The core group of this LS has been doing Salvage for close to 2 years. We've 6 manned all Salvage bosses, and we're capable of doing a full clear on any of the zones with as few as 6. Even with our small roster, there's over 100 finished pieces and there are a few members who have over 12 pieces finished.

There isn't a point system for Salvage, but there is a lotting system which hasn't received any complaints in the 2 years I've been using it. On Salvage days, I always do dual runs again, similar to limbus. I'd like to eventually branch it out to 3 runs, but I'm not doing any 3-4 man runs until I feel like everyone is comfortable enough to handle it - we still have newer members who are learning the ropes and didn't have any Salvage experience until recently.

    Other Events:
Aside from the official events, to keep ourselves busy we do ZNM, SCNM, sea, and sky. Many of the times we do this in the late afternoon, or after official events are done.

    Sea:
Most of our members are very comfortable with sea. While we typically have more, we've been able to do all inside jailers with 6 people. We've straight tanked Jailer of Faith with 6, and we've done Jailer of Temperance straight tanked with 5. The Ix'Aerns & Fortitude are of course very easily done mana burned with a small group, and I've placed an emphasis on not wasting more bodies than needed at each sea activity. If 12 people are online, then again I will split up the group to tackle different spots in sea.

    Sky:
There isn't much demand for Sky gear anymore since a majority of the LS capped years ago, but we still do it on occasion for newer members who never went through the 'sky ls' phase of FFXI.

    ZNM/SCNM:
I've personally helped with over 30 runs of the La Vaule [S] SCNM, and lately we've moved onto farming Beadeaux [S].

As for ZNM, we mainly focus on Sarameya & Tinnin. It's required for all members to keep up with Zeni - everyone helps, even if there's nothing you want from ZNM, you still receive a paycheck which partly comes from ZNM activities.

    HNMs:
While I said earlier that we do not camp the ground kings, I will say I am not opposed to members camping other HNM's if they want the gear. Examples would be camping King Vinegarroon, Khimaira, Cerberus, & Tiamat. We have a very simple philosophy in the LS - if you want the gear, then you camp it. Every single person in our LS who wanted an Ace's Helm spent their time in Western Altepa - if you camp it, then you get priority on lotting that item first. If you're too lazy to camp, then no one is going to camp it for you. Many members no longer need anything from the above mentioned HNM's, but they all had to earn their gear from HNM's this way, and it's a tradition I will keep going with this LS.

Our roster is mainly active in the PST evening hours, so our window of time when we do these NM's is of course limited, but we are more than capable of doing them.

    Summary:
While this linkshell is technically new, the members in it are not new. Many of us have been playing together for years. There's alot of trust in each others' playstyles, and we have the experience to back it up. We've done almost everything there is in FFXI, but we've decided to stick with these events because they're the funnest for us to do. Despite all the seriousness listed above, this is a very family-oriented LS. We're very friendly with each other and closed-knit, most of us prefer not to socialize or do things with people from outside the LS.

    Recruiting:
We're currently looking for all jobs, but placing a priority on finding people who have BLM and/or BRD leveled. Having a melee zerg job in addition to one of those jobs is a huge plus. If you strictly only leveled melee jobs, then please do not apply. There are some events we do which use 0 melee jobs, and you'd be feeling pretty awkward the entire time. If you have experience pulling Dynamis, this is also a huge plus. And lastly, obviously being able to play in the evening PST hours is required - keep in mind sometimes activities can go pretty late into the night.

If you managed to read over all of this, then you should probably be able to tell that I am very selective about who joins. One of the benefits of having a small roster, is that there are less mouths to feed and lines are much, much shorter.

Having said all of that, I ask that anyone who is interested in applying post an app on our official forums (listed on the site linked at the top of this post). If there are any questions, you can shoot me a PM here or post a reply.
