I think the argument stopped a few posts ago.

On topic: Agree completely with Killkenny, but while YGK are not the most impressive WSs under omgwtfbbqbuffed conditions, it's impressive that they are the most consistent WSs in the game.

I forgot that Salvage bosses were the yardstick for damage output potential in FFXI.

Silly me.

Lest we forget that there are 4 of them, which normally don't even need to be killed every run.

And that 99% of FFXI players spend more time killing merit-level-and-under monsters and HNMs. Which are not Salvage bosses.

Edit: By your logic, I posit that /ra RNG is as good as a 2h DD because of Dark Ixion and Odin.

Btw found one of your post in this thread. On odin, ranger are shit SAM are much better (or monk ...). Run a parse sometimes

Edit to be constructive: SAM does more damage on odin, but soaks up every AoE.. seeing as you have limited resources for the fight, needing less healers for your DD(and having them stay alive) is more important than a minor DPS increase.
