Old - Mission 2-3 dragon, was quite a heartbeat of a fight with 6 people
Current - I got Sand Gloves last month after god knows how many kills, not sure why I wanted it so much, it now sits on my Mannequin until I find a use for it
Future - Quitting the game would be quite an achievement

I avoided every single bit of endgame drama since launch.

Haha, oh snap. That's a real good one. When I first got my character to 71, some fellow wanted me to join his LS, but my current LS already had offered to let me in on their HNMLS, so I joined that, and that fellow who had offered me entry into his went around whining and droning on about it.

Mine was probably getting sea..didn't take our static group so long but it was such an awesome time and when we finally stepped in it was just like months of work cumulating in that moment. Was pretty cool.

After committing nurenberg-grade war crimes on various sea creatures to get their organs, getting that Relaxing Earring felt like a bigger accomplishment than any other gear.

However, the day I uninstalled felt like the biggest accomplishment. "What do I win?" "Your life back."

I think there are 2 instances for me that are tied for greatest accomplishment. When I got my Haidate after 2 years and 4 shitty end game lses, and when I finally got my 25 Ares body off of LBC. I was 2/3 forever and he just wouldn't drop it. Both of those events caused me to stand up and go YES!

Soling mobs in Sea for obis was the best thing I remember in recent years. Espeshly when so few people had access and everyone kept asking you what it was like there

Also, I managed to not only survive every fucking piece of shit drama that flew around me, my linkshell, my friends (as it is want to do in an endgame setting), but I managed to find some really good friends, who kept being my friends even after I quit the game.

#2 beating airship fight after 35+ runs (my team was to nit picky if we spent 5 seconds to long on mammats they wanted to re-start)
#3 finally having fun on a game that was once full of real wankers for little to no reason, gladly most have grown up (including myself)

I remember when I first started playing FFXI. Every new zone was it's own adventure. I remember the bagpipes of Sandy, the music of East Ron, the first dune parties. I could go on and on.

My achievement list would be:
1) Doing the limit break quests finally getting that damn papyrus
2) Completing my first AF set.
3) Beating Maat on NIN at 67
4) Getting my fucking O-hat, that's a novel in it's own right there
5) First big kills in sky, hnms etc.
6) All the gear, merits, friends and 75's I have achieved along the way.

Biggest for me was getting my earth abj body after 2 years of camping, then 2 weeks later on my 35th cursed body synth getting a -1. 2 months later I quit the game.

There was only one way to do it. Avoid endgame like the plague first and play with only irl friends. It has caused me to enjoy ffxi more than most ever have or ever will. All missions, quest and what have you, were done that way. I have my own 18 man alliance of tightly knit irl friends in the game. We try random shit together without being an endgame LS.

My first 75 White Mage.
Getting Sky access.
Cooking 100.
Getting PCC from UO. (Still have it to this day)
My second 75 Beastmaster (soloed to 75).
Getting Sea access.
My third 75 Black Mage (soloed to 75).
Getting Byakko Haidate (BST only job usable at the time, go go point systems!).
My fouth 75 Ninja.
Getting Sorcerer's Petesos.
Completing all three nation Rank 10s.
Completing Aht Urghan missions.
Soloing NMs on BST. Despot, Ancient Goobbue, Merrow No.5
Getting Baha v2 access.
and coming soon Maat's Cap

I plan on getting WAR, RDM and THF 75 sometime in the future before I finally throw in the towel for good.
