LOOOVVVEE Hackers. I have that one VHS as well, recorded off of HBO when I was 16 lol.

I think it was more the over-exaggeration of subcultures in an NYC backdrop that makes the movie so enjoyable for me. Prodigy soundtrack put it over the top.

Just a few more that came to mind, for Brill's sake I'll include IMDB links.

Braindead (US title Dead Alive): Braindead (1992)
Fear of a Black Hat: Fear of a Black Hat (1994)
Profondo Rosso (US title Deep Red): Profondo rosso (1975)
    Vanishing Point: Vanishing Point (1971)

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

There is something very hilarious about the movie poster you posted and your sig. They go together so well.

Has anyone mentioned Rocky Horror Picture Show? If not I am saddened.

I believe it has been mentioned but it is worth mentioning again since it was a movie with such a huge cult following that dressed up in costumes every weekend and watched the movie.

    Edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_classic

It seems according to the wiki that the RHPS is the standard cult classic that other movies are measured against to see if they can qualify as a cult classic. Also it mentions Ed Wood movies which are all awesome.

    ftfy

I've been forced to sit through three Ed Wood movies through various film classes and all have left with the urge to off myself. I honestly do not understand what people see in his films (I have a few friends that swear by his movies).

I disagree with Wes Anderson. While I understand the draw for some people, I fucking hate his movies. Royal Tenenbaums was the only one I liked even a little bit. Life Aquatic was amusing at some parts. But for the most part I think Wes Anderson is an incredibly overrated director. I think he gets so caught up in trying to make his movies and characters so quirky that he forgets to make the movies entertaining. Darjeeling Limited was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I've never been impressed with him and I don't understand why people annoited him the next big thing. Produce something memorable, then start the talk.

A not so good movie, with some similar elements, would be Empire Records.

Yeah i see where your coming from, his movies for me are the visual equivelant of easy listening music, Im not one of those guys who thinks hes great or anything, i just like the lack of complexity and the ambient mood his stories seem to get me in.
