Actually only the "extreme" people go there for the music.
The rest goes to the festival for the camping fun, i.e. sitting around doing nothing but chatting shit/games/booze
Aftershock tent watching the freak show, rioting for the lulz, sex in tents etc, music is just the basis.
No Lamb of god = no show for me.
The Answer are playing. But its not worth the plane ride, I'll wait until they do a concert a little closer to me.
Fuck yes, Lacuna Coil
I remember goin in '03 when Maiden were headlining on the Saturday and I think 'tallica played a 'surprise' set on the smaller stage. Can't remember what other bands were there though.
Wish I was going this year though but can't afford it at this point in time. Oh well maybe next year.
*edit* There's always Bloodstock!
Fuck that looks sick. Korn, Killswitch Engage, Manson, Slipknot, Bring me the Horizon, Static-X, Trivium, Shinedown, Sevendust, God Forbid...
ummmm Faith No More? Fucking epic. I didn't even know they still played shows. Faith No More and Dragon Force would be the only bands I would want to see in that line up though :\ and I guess KillSwitch too
Probably the only reason I went to be honest was for the camping. It's rather epic.
Not going this year, couldn't afford it but been going since 2004. I do rather enjoy Download<3 I almost bought a ticket this year but with the credit crunch and all. Ther ewas no bands I desperately wanted to see so giving it a miss.
So enjoy though. (: Toss a few bottles for me when the wars start, too.
I went Reading last year and saw 5 bands. The atmosphere is amazing, its just lawless. Waking up to drinking.
Although one side note, wellies are a god send for the festivals.
um yeah exactly
I really wanted to go this year, anything with KoRn & Slipknot playing is worth seeing. Unfortunately my manager is a cock and wouldn't give me the weekend off. Going to end up watching the coverage on TV while doing nothing at work.
The grim thing is - radio 1 on the way home from work talking about Faith No More's Epic and saying "a lot of you won't have heard of this band but this track is brilliant."
I may be an old fart but... not heard of it? Sacreligious youth of today.
My 15 year old brother knows who Faith No More is and he doesn't really listen to much music I wish I was going to download instead of rockness but atleast ill get to see Placebo this weekend which is a plus
anyone else been watching the FNM stream? holy shit amazing
