How much stp is needed in gear to get a 6hit build provided you have 5/5 stp merits?

Yeah, I could nuke with Breeze, but then if im at full mp I lose out on 30mp and also the -enmity, yeah I could tank with Bomb, but id lose out on the +enmity, yeah I could WS with a Flame, but id lose out on the DEX.

HUUUR, how i make incomparable comparisons
Didn't want to read page two but if you are a PLD getting sattva may seem like a good idea but in fact its not. As Kaeko explained when you get hit you lose enmity based on your max HP so ideally as a PLD you would want a hercules ring and a mermaid ring to macro in for actions and after the actions macro in HP+ rings again. Also AGI and VIT don't do anything so lets not kid ourselves on those stats actually having a function.

For Tamas rings no job needs the +int or the +mnd at once since there is no spell that factors in both at the same time. If you consider it for the MP then that seriously must be a joke as MP has little function on much at all and if you are really that dead serious about MP you could make a max MP gear set and then use the spells appropriately when your MP gets lower switch to the better gear, consider it free nukes or enfeebs or whatever but in any scenario the 30 mp won't change anything. The negative enmity is argueable however in solo situations enmity does nothing and in tanking situations if your tank can't keep hate from -3 enmity on yourself then you have larger issues at hand than what ring you should use.

Rajas on the otherhand utilizes all stats at once because when you attack you are benefiting from the attack, str, crit, acc, dex, store tp, and even subtle blow on each swing. Not relying on one stat per action and able to switch it out. Rajas is really the only one thats unique and multi beneficial where as the other two rings are convient pieces to have for multi tasking but the job can be done with more equip, unless your getting a sattva then the job could be done better with more equip.

I agree with everything you said except this.

Blue Mage is the 1 exception, it does use Intelligence and Mind at the same time. If you are a career Blue Mage and have no other melee jobs, you will get more use out of Tamas Ring for Blue Mage than Rajas Ring.

while it does, I think really though with hale/omega for those spells I don't think the +2 int/mnd is worth losing out on 5 dex for the big 3, unless you played blu as mage and never DD.

Depending on the situation, I may rather be Blue Mage than Black Mage or Scholar. However, there is no situation where I'd rather be Blue Mage subbing Ninja than a 2-handed melee.

What spell factors in both mind and int at the same time?

Also if you are a blue mage the rajas ring is better on everything but big time nms that you are not allowed to melee. It offers the strength for physical spells and the acc for the spells to go along with the strength. Not to mention the subtle blow is nice for multi hit spells and the store tp is just a bonus if you are allowed to melee. This is assuming a melee blue mage.

I personally was never able to outperform my melee blue mage as a mage blue mage, and I had 5/5 magic accuracy as well as 8/8 blue magic skill as well. But again I digress, is there a single spell that factors both MND and INT at the same time? Otherwise it would go back to what I said on being a convient macro piece and hindering yourself permanently (Or on a 3 month basis i suppose?) on the physical aspect of a blue mage.

edit: For reference sake I was a career blue mage as well as had most to every optimal gear piece for every situation. My merits were 5/5 physical potency 5/5 magic accuracy 8/8 sword 8/8 blue magic 5/5 enchainment 4/5 convergence 1/5 diffusion.

you're doing it wrong then, lets see SE apollyon, Jailer of Temp and Any time you could use stun[ie frogs in ZR, bhoot/flayer in AR, Number of Limbus Zones, or low man for other stuffs], and it can debuff the mob, cure people and do decent magical dmg even on /nin.

You don't need anything but Strength for subbing Thief. If you're subbing Ninja against anything remotely difficult, you're doing it wrong. If you have a 2-handed melee job leveled, you should probably be using that instead, and thus have a Rajas Ring for that job.

Blue Mage performs way better at all of those things subbing Thief.

The only time a blue mage should be sjing ninja is for bcnm, solo, and merit parties. Actually solo is debatable because of /dnc.

However if you are ONLY using SA Vertical Cleave or cannonball(really only on toau 3 king and ixion is it better than vertical cleave however on those two mobs RNG are better anyway, my corsair actually used to put better numbers on ixion as opposed to BLU.) then you're doing blue mage wrong because frenetic rip and disservement should be used as well.

The only two spells worth mentioning out of that list is regurgitation and maybe firespit. Regurgitation is really only a nice solo tool and firespit is half decent on things that don't resist it. In the end the physical spells are much more mp efficient and time efficient for casting. However on big HNM it is nice to have more in your arsenal but the only situation I could see justifying that is Odin, Toau 3 king, and toau 3 beastman gods. Or if your a hard core solo/duoer. In the end I personally couldn't justify it over rajas because there are many more aspects of endgame than those 3 and if I wanted to solo I would have gone RDM not BLU.

edit: I forgot to say only before SA veritical cleave

edit2: I always found that heat breath and frost breath were more effective to use than firespit as well.
