Oh I know those. When I did a Draft the other day I got a Play set of Sky hunters. Made me win the whole day. I used to be really stupid with drafts but I'm learning and getting really good. I've gone from winning 0 matches to winning almost all of them. I tend to lose to super cards being played. Everyone I know is impressed with how well I'm doing. I'm positive if I take my time and think about the deck I'm making come Sat I'll win atleast 3rd.

lol Leonin Skyhunter was amazing at the last sealed night I went to. Barely anyone else had anything flying and if I was lucky enough to draw my 2 skyhunters early it was GG to them.

That's awesome. I won a few times when I drafted Infect. Drafts really are fun for infect since matches can be so slow.

also, is there any like official rules for 2v2 games? my friend suggested it and idk how it works, plus certain things would seem overpowered, because of a larger shared life pool (serra ascendant and felidar sovereign for example)

2v2 is called two headed giant and there are specific rules associated with the format. I think you can find them on the Magic main website.

goddamn am I reading this card right because for 4 mana that seems ridiculous (although with it being 4 black mana and no colorless I guess it's a little more balanced for multicolor decks). when it says "that many" does that mean that if he blocks with something that kills it, he has to sacrifice 5 permanents?

They have to sac permanents equal to amount of damage dealt to it so if they save chump block it with a 1/1 then it dies and they sac a permanent. If they say zap it twice with 2 lighting bolts to kill it then they have to sac 6 permanents. Since its black and it obviously discourages damaging it the only good ways to deal with it are Go for the throat, Dismember, exiles and board wipes. Its gonna be expensive for awhile but its manacost mostly restricts it to mono-black. Mono-black control could be decent now but I don't think it can compete with caw-blade and the current standard but still something to to consider playing casual or when standard rotates.

MODO Release events are the best events ever, 3-1 gets your entry back and then some, 2-2 gets lots of it back. 4-0 is 2 entries

That prerelease was TOTAL bullshit for me. I came in 4th while I should really have been 2nd or 3rd. The store I go to have a very friendly group and we never have any dispute needing disciplinary actions. But that one guy I first played.... He took fucking 5 minutes EVERY TURN. After I played a card that said that I could search his library, he went outside to have a cigarette. He did that TWICE. I was fucking pissed that he won 1-0 (yes, 1-0. Never got to finish second game, he was at 1 life I was at 26 at the end of the last turn active) with a shitty deck because I was mana boned I would have rolled him over so bad.

I won all of my other matches. 4 boosters instead of 8+ stings

My total pulls for the day:
    -Glistening oil
    -Phyrexian Swarmlord
    -Xenograft
    -Chancellor of the annex
    -Venser's journal
    -Myr reservoir
    -True conviction
    -Scrapyard Salvo foil
    -Hovermyr foil
    -Vridian betrayers foil
    -Etched monstrosity
    -Preator's grasp
    -Cryptoplasm
    -Tower of calamities
    -Moltensteel dragon
    -Phyrexian ingester
    -Consecrated sphinx
    -Phyrexian Swarmlord

    and the prerelease promo.

they had extra promos and gave us each 2, which made me pretty happy since I can use em when playing friends.

Prerelease went pretty well went 4-0 finished 5th out of 50+ and won 8 packs. Sealed packs were kinda crap but made a decent G/B infect deck out of it. Phyrexian Swarmlord is pretty stupid strong in limitied but the big winner for me was Act of Aggression no one was expecting this card its so good. Prize packs netted me Sword of war and peace, Foil Topor orb, Phyrexian Obliterator, Melira, Blade splicer, 3 of the chancellors and xenograft.

First sealed I pulled Karn and a bunch of fucking badass cards. I had to pass. Second sealed I pulled a Elash Norm and some random junk. Got to keep. Got 7th. I'm so fucking pissed about the Karn/others. Fuck.

Oh, and the dude who got my Karn/others came second.

If I didn't already know where you lived I'd ask if you were at the PR in Seattle since I played against a guy with those same bombs (Karn and Wurmcoil). Someone in the same flight opened a Foil Karn then a regular one. He obviously 4-0'd.

I opened a mediocre pool and ended up in B/W. Had a bunch of removal but hardly any creatures.

    2x Contagion Clasp
    2x Grim Affliction
    Geth's Verdict
    Skinrender
    Pith Driller

    for rares I opened:
    True Conviction
Tempered Steel (would have been nice if I had more artifact creatures...)
Norn's Annex (very good against non-white decks)
    Blade Splicer
Chancellor of the Dross (won every game where I had him at the start)
Nim Deathmantle (Didn't have enough creatures to even consider using it)

Opponent in round 3 had Beast Within and a foil Fresh Meat. The combination of those 2 cards pretty much wrecked me.

No showed round 4 since I didn't hear them announce pairings. Some they announced over the PA, some they didn't. My fault though for not checking sooner. Still got 1 pack for going 2-2 and got an Elesh Norn. Missing the round was worth it though since I bought a Japanese 6th Enlightened Tutor for $10 and a playset of Japanese BB Dark Rituals for $11 total from one of the dealers.

Planning on going to another PR today.

    Spoiler: show
    Magic(TM) Rapture Procedure Guide

    Effective May 21, 2011

    Purpose of this document

As some of you may be aware, Harold Camping of Family Radio Worldwide
has, through intense study of the Scriptures, determined that May 21,
2011 will be the date of the Rapture, as foretold in 1 Thessalonians
4:17, when Christians will be "gathered together in the clouds" to
meet Christ. As this date coincides with a number of sanctioned events
around the world, including Grand Prix Prague, and is potentially
disruptive to those events, the DCI has developed the Magic Rapture
Procedure Guide (RPG) to outline policies and procedures for
minimizing the impact of the Rapture on the integrity of sanctioned
    tournaments.

    1. Player responsibilities

1.1 Should the Rapture occur between rounds, players who find
themselves ascending bodily toward the heavens must notify the
Scorekeeper of their intention to drop from the
tournament. Players who fail to do so will incur the appropriate
penalties for Tardiness in the following round.

1.2 If the Rapture occurs during a round, however, players who rise
heavenward without first seeking the permission of a judge should
be issued Slow Play infractions, just as they would for getting up
from the table for any other purpose. Note that players may
concede as they begin rising toward the clouds, in which case no
penalty should be issued. If possible, ask such players to sign
the match result slip and place a check mark in the "Drop" column
    before they leave.

1.3 If both players in a match are called heavenward, treat this as a
loop of mandatory actions (players cannot choose to disregared the
summons of the Lord); the result is a draw.

1.4 Treat all other infractions during the Rapture normally; though
unusual, this circumstance is not considered exceptional enough to
justify further deviation from the IPG.

    2. Judge responsibilities

2.1 Judges who find themselves caught up in the Rapture should ask
permission of their team lead to go on break. Failure to do so may
result in loss of comp for the portion of the event worked thus
    far.

2.2 Per the DCI uniform policy, judges who are called up by the Lord
must either remove or cover up the black DCI shirt when leaving
    the tournament floor.

2.3 Should the Head Judge be taken in the Rapture, he or she should,
per MTR 1.7, transfer his or her duties to a judge who is not
    visibly rising toward the skies.

2.4 If the Rapture results in no judges remaining on the tournament
floor, again refer to MTR 1.7: the Tournament Organizer may assume
the duties of the Head Judge and continue the tournament normally.

2.5 If the Rapture results in no tournament officials remaining, the
event cannot continue, and should be reported to the DCI as
    "Cancelled".

    3. Scorekeeper responsibilities

3.1 Due to the proficiency in dark arts required to effectively
scorekeep large events, the DCI considers it extremely unlikely
that any Scorekeeper will be unable to continue his or her normal
duties due to being caught up in the Rapture.

3.2 Do note, however, the following addition to the DCI's currently
suspended player list; the following player should not be
permitted to enroll in DCI-sanctioned events:

First Name Last Name DCI Number City Country Start Date End Date Reason

MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT, 6666666666 Pandemonium Sheol -4004-10-23 9999-12-31 Unsporting Conduct
    THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS
    AND ABOMINATIONS OF
    THE EARTH

    4. Handling abandoned property

4.1 It is possible that, in the confusion of mass ascension, some
players will leave their belongings in the tournament venue. Lost
or abandoned personal property should be handed in to the event's
Lost and Found desk. Players who engage in looting or theft shall
be disqualified without prize. Spectators who engage in such
behavior, but are not enrolled in the tournament, should be asked
to leave the venue by the Tournament Organizer.

    5. Changes from previous versions

    May 16, 2011
Removed Dark Confidant example because it was confusing.

New event decks announced. Incoming shitstorm because the first deck includes 2 Stoneforge Mystics. We are going to be flooded with homebrew non-JTMS caw-blade variants now. And everyone else at FNM will be running janky equipment decks.
