Interesting changes to standard, I haven't played since just after Zendikar came out but I keep up on what's happening a little bit.

Honestly I'm more excited about Modern becoming a paper format (if it has already, I am oblivious), those sorts of formats were always my favorites - like old extended, tempest block and up.

Just picked up my promo card for DotP. Now I just hope that the titans actually do get reprinted in m12. I don't think they will be too much of an issue once valakut rotates out so it wouldn't be bad for them to hang around a little bit longer.

Well back to focusing on my MBC and Tezz/infect decks.

That's where I plan on getting 1-2 of them for the reason you mentioned.

Talked my LGS Owner last night and apparently there's allocation issues (at least in the NW) with the decks. She went to reorder more of the decks but she could only get 1-2 more cases. There's only 1 shop in the area that I know of that has any left and I'm sure they jacked them way up.

my FLGS is really awesome, I called them up, reserved 1 deck for me and 4 for my friends and they were waiting for me on Friday when I went in sitting behind the counter in a box. Sold them to me at MSRP was a good thing he set them aside for us because he only had 2 decks total left out of the five cases he ordered. The guy who owns my local game store is super nice to all his magic players and very accommodating.

Must be nice. My LGSs don't really care about their CCGs. They barely know how to work the PC program for the tournaments and none of them understand the game. They do it just so they can make money, which they are barely doing as is. It's pretty unfortunate, but not much I can do about it. The store owners only care about the tabletop games I guess? Or the one guy who holds FNM literally doesn't give a shit and sits there and plays that marvel MMORPG game thing.

Hey I'm trying to sell off my cards. Initially I posted the bulk of my cards to craigslist, but a lot of them are crap and it wasn't working well (I probably have like 1000+). Instead I rounded up the cards I thought were worth at least something and posted them on craigslist. I wanted about $100 for the lot (after looking through what they were all going for individually) and I've gotten a few bites but all real low balls. Anyone want the cards? Anyone have tips on how to get my moneys worth? Should I just keep them? I think some of them are decent, but none are like "omgwtf rare." List of the ones I'd want to sell are:

Honestly, if someone is buying it they are probably just going to try to turn it. You wont get 100$ for that unless you are lucky. You might get 45$

You should be able to get more than $45. Vampiric Tutor alone is just under 20.

Most are because of EDH/Commander, some because of Eternal. Depending on how bad you need the cash, I wouldn't take less than $60.

Just run Combust on the sideboard and Splinter Twin is dead. Plus Twin was running 4x JTMS, because its a combo deck, and a combo deck without ways to get its pieces is a bad one.

The difference between the current standard is that, yes Valakut and ExarchTwin are big decks, but they have real, and workable flaws. Caw Blade? "Turn two Stoneforge. Game 2?"

Another HUGE difference, and the reason they chose to do Ban now instead of wait for rotation is M12. Now we can look at the new set without having to pass every new creature and deck idea through the "Jace Test." We can look at the cards with a fresh view on the Meta, and not just on 'Well its nice but Caw-Blade will still walk all over it."

Picked up a few packs of New Phyrexia today and walked away with Sword of War and Peace, 2 Birthing Pods and a Spellskite. Not that bad for what few packs I got. Going to try and come up with some deck with Birthing Pod.

Valakut doesn't autoscoop to xTwin. At worst is GrixTwin and everything gets ripped by IoK and spellkites everywhere and looking at it going off T4/T5, RU(G) Twin is much more of a tossup.

Regardless, with Cawblade out and not shitting up the format I just might be able to enjoy the next few months of Standard.

Selling big lots of cards even with good cards like that is difficult. I agree with Tricen, as a group you won't get much for the cards. If you want to take the time and effort I think you could definitely make your monies worth selling the cards individually. Bulk sales take a big hit in value because it is the best option for speed and ease.

As strange as it sounds, if someone drops a white bordered Mishra on me, I immediately think I'm going to win and am a better player. If they start dropping 1 of each season black-bordered, then I instantly respect their hand/play.

I think a majority of the tourney players are like this, as strange as it sounds to casual players.
