Well I started to play this game back in February with the pre-release of Mirrodin Besieged, lv 19 Adept.

I mostly do FNM, with a few exceptions like PTQ and Pre Releases because I like to troll people. 1pt earned at said pre-release, guess it says enough :D

probably dumb rules question, card like the marauder, or whatever, if you give it double strike, does that activate the ability twice? or is it still considered 1 instance of dealing damage

Apparently, it's counted as two instances of damage dealing, even when there is no blocking going on.

So I'm slowly trying to get back into the game and I've picked up a Booster box of M12... got 0 titans and 1 planeswalker (Sorin), best foil was a Grim Lavamancer... there were some good cards, sure (Phantasmal Image, Primordial Hydra?, Solemn Simulacrum...) but still a little frustrated. Should I get some New Phyrexia now, or what?

This. Be wary of how you handle that at some shops tho some stores don't like you buying from other players on their property they want you buy singles from them.
Singles are the way to go, getting what you want > randomly getting what you want . Some people just plain like the rush of cracking packs but if your gonna crack packs you may as well use them for draft then you can still crack your rares and maybe win more.

Gogo caw-geist-invis-ghost blade decks. Pretty much all the cards I love out of this set been blue so far and U/W blade is still looking good. Red is getting some sick EDH cards, Charmbreaker Devils is a decent body with spell recursion albeit random and Blasphemous Act is pretty good boardwipe in multiplayer. Green self mill might shape up into something with Mulch, Splinterfright and boneyard wurm. Its weird that in a graveyard block color I'm least excited about is black~

Heartless summoning puts just about everything in dismember range but damn thats a card wanting to be broken. T4 titans and T5 sheolred/elesh without ramping seems pretty good to me. I like the idea of using it to turn creatures into lowcost mirrors of spells like like turning viridian emissary into a 1 mana rampant growth. Grave titan wont be played with this but Frost and Inferno will. Frost titan with his innate force spike plus tapping makes it really hard to deal with on turn4 and inferno will eat anything on ETB that early.

Also hurray for 2 for 1 counters
