Sorin and Aristocrat I like alot. Not so psyched for another mythic dragon that won't be played. I got out of standard but sorin and aristocrat are making me want to make a new standard deck.

So, hypothetically, could you infinitely cast and sac a zero mana creature? It says you can cast target creature card 'from' a graveyard, not creature card *in* a graveyard.

It seems that a valid target is a creature card, not a card in the graveyard. And if it is an effect on the creature card, wouldn't it remain the whole turn?

Or even, could you target a living creature with that ability, in anticipation of its death?

From a graveyard = the card is currently in the graveyard. You are casting from the graveyard, instead of from your hand.

You have to target a creature card.

You can't target a creature on the field, because the field is neither the graveyard nor your hand.

You still have to have the mana to cast it though, so it's not like you can run around hijacking someone's red or white bomb in your blue/black deck.

Well you couldn't cast it infintely unless it produced mana; it costs 1 before you can activate the ability.

Is there a creature that costs 0 and sacs for mana?

Well, Ornithropter and Ashnod's Altar

Yeah, that is infinite mana. Add that new mill card = you win. Or Stroke of Genius / whatever.

Hank is right, Ornithopter, that Lich Creature and Ashnod's Altar creates infinite colorless mana. Play Ornithopter, sac it to altar making 2 colorless mana, use one to activate Lich's ability play ornithopter again from your GY for free sac it for another 2 colorless mana etc.

There might be some other combos similar to that if you have heartless summoning out too.
